Lone Tree Golf Course
About
Lone Tree Golf & Event Center sits at the base of Mount Diablo State Park, tumbling across rolling hills that provide panoramic views of the scenic San Juaquin River Delta region. It is one of the most popular golf courses among local Bay Area golfers. The name of the course is misleading since the beautiful landscape is covered with mature forests filled with a variety of indigenous trees including majestic Red Oaks, Cypress, Eucalyptus, and Ponderosa Pines. These towering treetops make navigating the course pretty tricky. Accuracy is essential as is precise shot placement. The trees border the rolling fairways and there are bunkers strategically placed along the greensides. In 1990, Lone Tree's greens were completely redone except for those on the 12th and 15th, which are the two smallest on the golf course.

Fairway view with golden hills. Photo submitted by Jennifer2089857 on 09/28/2013
Satisfied for the price I paid $25
Greens need some work compared to other courses like Roddy and Delta View.
Fairways were little over grown, needed to be cut.
I did like the layout of the course, less windy compared to Roddy or Delta View.
For the price I paid $25, can't really complain.
Super over watered for morning play
I just didn't like getting watered during my play when instructed to start play on the back 9. Right when i was about to chip onto the green i was sprinkled on... i called the pro shop and they advised there was some kind of mistake on their part. Do I get a free complementary play for this? Lol wouldn't hurt to ask....
A few holes can test your skills
The course was under some maintenance at the time. All around a good course and the price is fair. I have played the course numerous times over my life and have never had a bad experience.
a long course for the average golfer
I enjoyed the challenge. I am a short hitter so I could not reach the greens with irons, as is the case in most other courses. I had an opportunity to get a lot of use from my woods. Players of all abilities should enjoy this layout
love this course
beutiful views, manicured greens, close to hiway 4, classy restaurant, and an awesome staff. I would recomend this course to anyone.
good value when under 20 bucks a round
This is my home course which tends to get too many rounds booked and it will show wear. I play the twi-light times and rates and on sunday, 7/21, the course was wide open with no waiting. Accordingly, the temperature cooled down to 80+ degrees and the shade made the greens slower. The maintenance dept has kept up with watering and for the most part, the course is green and in good shape for a high round muni.
No cart person for sodas/ beers on Sunday evenings....bring something to hydrate yourself.....
good day as we played at noon and tee off times were spaced perfectly.
The course was in great shape and even though I am only a 12 handicap I was treated as if I was a sub par player.
had fun
play was a little slow saw no marshels snack bar was closed at 3:30 on a Sunday afternoon but we still managed to have a good time
greens are in great condition
do not leave anything behind in your golf cart or it will be missing
Great value, slow greens
Liked the course overall, but layout was tight. Greens and tee boxes were close together. There are a number of spots you could be in the line of fire by errant shots. Course is very playable, but the greens were really spongy and extremely slow.
Excellent course and Very Friendly Staff
Always a great place to play. They keep the course in great shape and the greens are well maintained. Great value and pace of play is good.
plush
This course is in great shape, they have really put a lot of work into it and it is in the best shape I have seen it in ever, fairways are plush, greens are fast and just a joy to play.
Great Value for the money!
This is a great course for the money. It is a challenging, yet fun course. Fairways are in good condition and the entire course is well maintained. This is one of my favorite courses to play.
Great local course
This course is in great shape compared to others around the same area. The staff give it a county club feel from the starter to the marshal to the bartender. One of my favorites around do to the staff.
Great course for two inexperienced golfers.
This is a terrific golf course. Pretty, rolling, challenging but not too long. It is well maintained except that the greens were a little slow because in need of mowing. We drove over from Davis and San Mateo respectively, and will do it again. Thanks also goes to the staff.
Fun course to play.
Lone Tree GC was fun to play. The hilly terrain made for a fun day. The wind can move your ball around, though. The pace of play was very good the entire round. The greens were a little long and, hence, very slow. I assume this is just temporary.
Good,solid coarse
I play here a lot, love the place, its a challenge, but still has a little wiggle room for those shots that don't go where I was aiming :)
Nice course for the money
Played this course several times and it still a challenge. Pace of play was very good. I plan to frequent this course often.
Bumpy Greens
One of the best deals out there. The track is in good shape but the greens were punched recently. Cost me a few strokes. Pace of play was good.
