Lone Tree Golf Course
About
Lone Tree Golf & Event Center sits at the base of Mount Diablo State Park, tumbling across rolling hills that provide panoramic views of the scenic San Juaquin River Delta region. It is one of the most popular golf courses among local Bay Area golfers. The name of the course is misleading since the beautiful landscape is covered with mature forests filled with a variety of indigenous trees including majestic Red Oaks, Cypress, Eucalyptus, and Ponderosa Pines. These towering treetops make navigating the course pretty tricky. Accuracy is essential as is precise shot placement. The trees border the rolling fairways and there are bunkers strategically placed along the greensides. In 1990, Lone Tree's greens were completely redone except for those on the 12th and 15th, which are the two smallest on the golf course.

This course is one of the best values for the experience in the East County area. Greens are consistent, fairways generous.
Course challenge is moderate - this course can be a bit easy for long-ball hitters, but definately adds a challenge for average drivers. The overall lay-out lends for ease of recovery on most errant shots, but mature trees can make you pay the occasional penalty for being out of the fairway.
Greens putt consistent throughout the course and are receptive to hold long irons shots.
There is also ample room on the driving range and practice greens.
The after-game amentiies are above par and the facilities are spacious and clean.
Great day
The course layout is what attracts me to it. It has a variety of landscapes to challenge you. Overall, the atmosphere of the golf club is friendly and welcoming. It's on my list of favorites and I have recommended it to other golfers who haven't tried it.
Fun course
Fun Course, had a grea time, great staff enjoyed the 11th hole and 12th hole, and the 18th .
very good
Lone Tree is a very nice golf course. It can be hard but at the same time it is fair. You can play the course over and over and still be challenged. It has very a nice pro shop, bar, and dinning room with friendly employees. Their Cart Girls will not let you run out of food and drinks should you need them. It has a driving range and putting green which is true to the greens that you play. I especially like playing golf and not have to worry about breaking a house window. LOL
Very good little muni
Course has its challenges, back to back straight par 5s with a blind drive or approach, and opportunities, a short par 3 followed by a driveable par 4. Friendly staff and a clean, well maintained course are nice bonuses. GolfNow rates make it a good value.
Good layout, greens are having problems
I've always enjoyed playing at Lone Tree. Unfortunately the greens have some type of disease. They are working on the problem but it you have to putt over dead bumping areas.
Great staff. Pace of play can be slow.
Course was in good condition. Greens rolled nicely. Lots of people on the course. Took over five hours to play.
inconsiderate club pro
partner and i had played thru a slow foursome on the 13th hole and we were just starting to pick up our pace, we'd been behind them from the front nine, and there was nobody checking to see that the play was moving along. then to our dismay, the club golf instructor jumped out with four or five guys in front of us on the 14th hole and we were held up on each of the holes waiting , and waiting. i was more than a little disturbed, my partner wanted to quit after the 14th hole but we pressed ever so slowly on to the finish. overall, the worst day i've ever played on a course. i'd recommend playing in the street over this club.
Course has good features, holes you can bomb it and holes where precision is required
I would recommend this course because of cheap green fees and the challenge level...
