Lovely par 3

I took my beginner husband to the Churchill last Sunday for his first golf course experience, rather than intimidate him with a full-sized course. Total success. We had the course to ourselves so took it slowly and had great fun. The holes - with bunkers, proper rough , slopes and water - were interesting and varied. He loved it and I was suitably challenged to be disciplined and accurate. The greens were in excellent condition; the fairways could do with a cut; but also nicely kept. Beautiful views. Lovely setting. We’ll be visiting again soon.

NB - the postcode is wrong.

Access is via the actual Westerham Golf Club off Brasted Road, just outside Westerham. Go to the Pro shop on arrival, as you would normally.

Academy course

I took a complete novice to the Churchill course at Westerham golf club. This par 3 course was ideal for him. The fairways were patchy and the greens were fluffy with bid holes, great for a beginner. He did not feel intimidated.

The clubhouse staff were polite and friendly.

Great little par 3 course

Played this course for the first time & it’s fantastic for all levels of golf.

I played with a beginner golfer & they thoroughly enjoyed playing their first round here.

The mats on the tee box make it playable for all levels.

Would recommend to anyone.

Nice 9 hole

Nice beginners course, a bit boggy after the rain but was ok, greens were good, fairways ok. A couple interesting holes which was good.

A nice course for beginners.

I am fairly new to the sport and enjoyed the Par 3 Churchill course. It was a little bit muddy in the rough but other than that the course was in good shape. A great, beginner friendly course.

Great idea, poorly executed

Has potential to be a very nice par 3 9 hole course as the layout is decent. Poorly kept with the greens in horrendous conditions. Not even close to the fantastic condition of the main 18.

Better off playing a twilight 9 on the main course

Excessive fees

Bearing in mind the time of year , I would still suggest that the course fees for the Churchill are too much in my view . The 9 hole par 3 would be sure excellent for new/ young players to start on and the Club are missing a trick by not making it more accessible firstly and giving it a little more care and attention.

Could be better

Good layout with some nice little holes. What really let it down was the conditions of the greens. Really poor and just about playable. But I did enjoy playing the little par 3 holes and it’s a lovely club.

Can't go wrong with a par 3 to improve your skills

Done this par 3 this morning and overall was a nice course to improve your skills on. Has water hazards and bunkers just perfect for a nice sunday morning. I find these are far more beneficial than going to the driving range if only working on your short game. I Suppose my only thing would be why 1 golfer has pay to pay £12 rather than £10 if you go with 2 or more, Plus an extra £1 for commision.
