Course is in great shape for a mini. Good value, fast pace. Marshall on duty. No 6 people. Good control
Coursed punched
Normally great course well maintianed usually really slow because everyone wants to play there this poor review is just a heads up to anyone thinking of playing in the next couple weeks when i got there i discovered they punched all tee boxes and most fairways so i was literally standing on top of dirt turds trying to tee off my ball but again great course its just under seasonal changes so heads up
Kern River
A really good pay supply for Kern River course conditions were excellent greens were in very good shape fairways green
Home Course
Greatly improved under new ownership. First hole in one, on sixth hole in 1983. I will never forget that.
Slow play
Very slow play . Witnessed 2 -5 somes and a few groups that were a hole behind the group in front of them. Nice course but have to allocate 5 hours for a round. Greens in really good shape
Where is the Marshall on the weekends
The last two weekends we've played it has taken 5-6 hours to play (no breaks). This weekend we couldn't even finish. Got stuck behind some group of jacks that were literally just stopping in the middle of the fairways to chat, take shots. Last weekend there were 5 groups stacked at 17. I understand it's a public course and that's why the fees are a little less, but c'mon. There's no rhythm of play when you have to wait 5-10 minutes at each hole.
Friendly and no pressure
Great public course. Friendly staff. Great food. Definitely worth the money. No problem showing up early even on 'hot deals.' If there's room, they don't mind letting you tee off early. It's win win for everyone.
COURSE IN GREAT SHAPE
Better than 90% of courses in Bakersfield for this time of year.
Pace of play and staff
The pace of playing is very very slow they booked too many golfers 10 minutes apart half hour to 45 minutes to play staff not friendly at all

Course is smooth and well maintained.
