Alright
dont know what the owners problem is but he's come up with his own rules regarding the course. Dont like new rule about restricted golf cart access and not allowed in the parking lot. Probably wont be coming back too soon.

The course is looking way better!!!! The fairways are green. The greens are in great shape. Tee boxes too!!! Keep up the great work!

Course is starting to show real signs of a comeback!!
This course has had several ups and downs in the past 5-6 years. I've seen it go from incredibly maintained to a non-existent attitude towards mowing, fixing sand traps, etc.
I have to say, this course is really starting to make a comeback. With Deer Ridge, Shadow & Roddy all gone within the past 5 years, I've been playing Brentwood a lot the past few years. Seeing the course get worse and worse. About 6 months ago I was told by staff that the course was really focusing in on fixing fairways/traps/tee boxes and trying to restore the integrity back to it's glory days.
For a while now, they have roped off(making them cart path only) a few holes (1 & 5) trying to bring back the fairways. It has really helped. Although it's understood this kind of plan takes time, it really is starting to show and I'm impressed.
I will keep coming back with the hopes that the course keeps up the promise of doing there job for golfers around the east bay. This is promising and I just wanted to say thanks to those putting in the effort of planning and execution!!

Average layout, blotchy fairway and teebox
Not bad for the price of $40 includes single cart. Speed of play excellent because no one is on the course. The blotchy fairways and tee boxes plus a long drive from San Francisco may be the reason. In all fairness, the greens were in very good shape and $40 for green fee plus single cart is a good deal...

Needs a lot of work
The fairways have little grass. It is hard to see your ball sometimes because it is sitting between tufts of grass., The bunkets need sand.
The greens were in ok shape.

Good course, has potential
I felt compelled to write this because of all the 1-Star reviews that I'm seeing very recently for this course. Have not played here before (I live in the East Bay) and all the negative feedback almost took all my excitement out before getting there. That being said, it set up my expectations very low just to not get super disappointed. Everyone's mileage may vary, so this is purely from my experience today as a first-timer for this course.
Our tee time was at 8:45 and got to tee off about 8 minutes behind schedule, so not so bad. You'll see reviews about slow play and insane back-ups, but for our morning group that was not the case. We finished the round just a tad over 4hrs, so pretty normal pace. Maybe those complaining about traffic depends on when you tee off (perhaps afternoon).
Now for the fairways, which is where the 2nd most negative feedback talks about. Yes, there are a LOT of patches where there is no grass. That is pretty unfortunate to see and hopefully the owner really puts a lot of effort in getting this addressed. It didn't really bother me that much today because those soil areas are usually on the outside edges of the fairways extending to OB, and most of my balls where middle and in play (humble brag).
As for the carts, also no issue. Maybe it's because we were morning and not all of the carts have gone out yet. The snack lady was also complained about, but we saw her twice during our round and she made sure to ask us if we wanted anything.
One last note to the owner. Since it was my first time, I did not know where the first tee box was for the 18-hole course. Our group (along with another) made the mistake of lining up for the Diablo course, which is their 9-holes. Maybe make it a point to tell patrons where to go upon check-in?

Arrived at course on time .pro shop was very friendly answered my question was able to get us out a couple minutes early. Our round took 4 hrs . Overall it was a great golf day
