DeBell Golf Club in Burbank offers an 18-hole Regulation Course and a nine-hole disc golf course. The Regulation Course has a tight layout with narrow fairways and a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Accuracy is the key to doing well on this golf course but it's not overly punishing. Its risk-reward holes will appeal to low and high handicappers alike. The front nine is fairly challenging but the back nine is where the golf course gets tough. Although DeBell Golf Club is short, only 5,608 yards from the back tees, the blind shots and winding doglegs make it seem much longer than it is. There isn't any water on the golf course but you'll hardly miss its presence with all the other hazards that lurk throughout.

DeBell 5/31

Been playing DeBell for 10 years. The course has always had some rough edges but it seems to be getting worse. Heavy weeds and rough not trimmed. Large areas that are just dirt on various holes. The greens were in decent shape. For 65 bucks there's better options. No GPS in carts, cart girl takes cash only.

Burbank Golf

It’s the only course in Burbank that’s public. The fring has big patches of rough. Greens are still recovering. Rolled slow when I played. We’ll see what happens throughout the summer

Greens need work

Overall the condition of the course was very good. The fairways and tees are in good shape and the bunkers had good sand in them (I just wish golfers would rake their footprints!), but the greens were slow and bumpy. They needed to be cut and rolled. Otherwise, I enjoyed my round.

Create for advancing players

As soon as I played this course one Sunday, I came back for more on Tuesday. Got a great deal, though on some days the pace can be slower.

Need to push slow play

If you can't play in rhythm it ruins golf.

What do you say when three groups are on the same tee.

Everyone should be pushed to finish a round in 4.5 hours. Especially a short course like Debell.

It's a difficult course but if a marshal was active to KINDLY PUSH people thru.. Didn't see a marshal until the 14th hole. Sure would make for a much better weekend to be able to play at pace.

Too Penal

This is probably the 4th time I’ve played DeBell. For how difficult the course is in good condition, it was downright cruel in the condition it was in today. 5-6 inch rough, improperly cut holes (smaller than standard, volcano lip) and inconsistent greens and bunkers. If it’s well manicured this course will eat your lunch but when you can hardly find your ball when it’s one inch off the fairway, miss a put because of a sloppily cut hole or try to get up and down from the green side weeds…what is the point

Great challenge

Love this course, very challenging and creative layouts. You gotta be the first group out in order to set the pace or else you’ll end up behind a group that’ll slow down the entire day. Wish they would have a more active Marshall patrolling and getting the pace up to speed.

Ok for the money

Was disappointed with the condition of many of the fairways. The rough along most of the fairways was shin deep and appeared to not have been maintained in months. Greens were satisfactory following perforation but they desperately need to be rolled.

Bring balls.

This is not a friendly course. It will eat your balls with no remorse. Small greens, tight lies and canyons that make things disappear. If you play to your strengths and keep your ball in the fairway you will do fine. But Hail Mary shots will be eaten by the tall rough. Greens were punched and over few weeks ago so they were chunky and full of regret. If I had known I might have gone somewhere else. Harder than knollwood. Pace of play was decent. Started at 2:50pm ended at 7pm.

I probably won’t be back unless I want to torture someone worse than me at golf.

Fun layout and requires shot making!

This is a short course, however ball positioning is key, as you can make a big number if you don’t keep your ball in play. That said, it’s a fair course, but it takes some plotting to play the right shots. This is not a course where you can just whip out the driver on every hole. Some short par 4s will require a strategically placed mid to even short iron. The back 9 is much more of a typical golf course. Due to the elevation changes this course plays much longer than the card shows. So really fun par 5s and the De Bell hole is a downhill 180 yd blind shot par 3 to a hidden green. Very fun! My only gripe is that the greens were recently punched but the pro shop didn’t warn anyone before the round. Typically the greens are in good shape but today they were pretty bad. Hopefully in a few weeks they will be amazing again.

Debell

Don’t book to play debell, the workers couldn’t find my golfnow reservation and they weren’t going to let us play at all because they couldn’t find it. I pulled up a confirmation number and showed that I payed already and they still were hesitant to make something happen. We had to beg them to let us on to play for something we paid for. The whole time they were just complaining the golfnow isn’t allowed to book tee times and we shouldn’t have booked with them
