Regulation at Marine Memorial Golf Course

This course is a great track. Plenty long and fast greens. It's usually difficult to get a tee time but my friends and I were able to book for Labor Day (yesterday) for only $35 including the cart! Although the course has no water hazards, it's still challenging. The food and drinks are reasonably priced too and since it's on the base, there's no sales tax - on anything.

Friends had been trying to get me out to this course for months. I was sorry I had not done so sooner. This course plays fairly long which suits players that can hit long irons well. The fairways are are wide and forgiving. The greens are forgiving and roll very well. Only drawback was that the bar was not open at the turn and the lower snack shack was not open either. Hope this course stays a secret now that it will be a favorite of mine going forward.

The course is in good condition. The pace was slower than usual du to 3 and 4 sums walking. This happens in the afternoon for the low cost.

Great course at any price, a great bargain for the on-line rate of $30. Course in great shape, interesting and challenging hole layouts with allowance for errant shots. Greens are in good shape with average speed. Facilities are in great shape and the staff was very friendly.

Definetly recommend it and will be back to play it.

Not crowded. Course is in excellent condition. Challenging, but fun to play.

Just an overall pleasant experience in a great setting. One of my favorites in north county.

Good course that being on a military base you feel like your out in the country with a golf course by itself. Good greens that are pretty tough to read.

Fairways and greens very good shape. Not many playing for a Friday afternoon so pace was great. Only down side was snack shack closed and no snack cart on course.

This course is flat and fun to play.

Greens were in GREAT shape.

Pro Shop staff was professional and very very helpful.

FYI : I use to work in the golf industry ( on the Manf. side ) for 5 years.

We had a 10:00 am tee time only to learn the golf course had a shotgun tournament and we would have to wait and then they stated we would have to wait and then go off later at on the back nine?

We did not play.

My first time playing here. Went there on the advice of some guys I played with the day before. Getting on base was easy. You get one time just having your DL scanned then after that you need to submit some information online. The course was in good shape, the greens were very nice but not overly fast. Good layout with quite a few long par 4s, especially on the back, into the wind. Played as a single and played the front in just over an hour and fifteen. Got in behind a slow 4 some who would not let me through on the back so I had to skip half a hole and got moving again. Finished in 3 hours. I had been told that during the week the course was empty and that was true. The weekend is evidently another story. I would recommend playing there and will go back.

It was our first time there, but it will not be our last as long as we can get it with a hot deal.

The course was a lot of fun to play especially since play was very fast on the day we played. There was no waiting at any hole. Playing conditions were excellent with very nice greens and fairways and the weather was perfect.

This course will test every part of your game. Great, traditional, old school layout!

I am a fairly new golfer shooting in the low 90's. This is a well laid out course with plenty of long par 4's and par 5's. I play another course in the area a lot where the lie always seems to be above or below your feet. However at MMGC the lies are mostly flat and the fairways are nice and wide making for an easy playing round. Less challenging than some course in the area, but very enjoyable. Only drawback is that it is in a canyon and the wind can howl through there making it a bit tougher than it normally would be.

All in all, a good experience. Course is in good condition, surroundings pleasant. No marshals on course, back nine was very slow due to one group.
