El Prado Golf Courses - Chino Creek

I had a 338 tee time as a solo with a two-some ahead of me at 330.

I still can’t figure out what happened, but I rolled up at 335 and the pair had yet to tee off, and a single who was carting her solo daughter around just pulled up to the red tees ahead of the pair and tee’d off. We asked what time her slot was but she was unintelligible. I called the shop and joined the pair. I was told the marshall would be out shortly to investigate. They never sent anyone out, and for the first 13 or so holes, we waited at each hole for a good ten minutes despite her being solo. We’d be ready to hit approach and the girl was sitting there for five minutes on the green to practice putting for five minutes. Other times, they’d sit and wait to tee off despite the group ahead of the solo player being out of range. It was bizarre, and no one apparently ever came to talk to them. She picked up the pace around hole 13 or 14.

Course conditions were pretty good. Nothing glaringly bad… a handful of the greens were pretty beat down with unrepaired/tended to ball marks.

Overall, I can’t complain about the super twilight prices. If it weren’t for the rude mom carting around her daughter, I’d have probably gotten done even with the walking threesome we had in like 3.5 hours. Chino Creek is definitely the more challenging and interesting of the two options. The low hanging electrical wires are always a drag with their deep buzzing, but other than that, not a bad day. Wind picks up late afternoon FYI.

The range space is awesome and on grass with plenty of stalls. The course itself is in great shape. The bunkers played well and weren't solid or rough. Fairways were nice, watered and cut and the greens were plain excellent. The tea boxes were in pretty great shape as well and there was only one hole that had a noticeable slump in the box that you had to avoid. If you're playing here on a busy day, ask more than once if they're going to announce you. I checked in 20 minutes out of my tee time was giving my car key and went to hit balls. I heard plenty of groups being called but never mine nor the Tucson we were with. When I went up just after the schedule t time he said you guys should have gone a while ago as if he sent us early. I grew up playing public horses in Montebello and Pico Rivera, but these were some of the dirtiest bathrooms I've ever seen on a golf course for sure. All in all for the full price I think you can play much nicer courses in the area.

However, if you're catching a discounted rate off a hot deal or Twilight fees, the layout is definitely a lot of fun

Had an 0551 am tee time, course was in very good shape, greens were almost perfect, and there was no one in front of us. Nothing like a sub 3 hr round on a Sunday morning. I was walking though, and rate of $58 was pretty high for walking, but otherwise a redo for sure.

Fairways and greens are getting better than years ago.

But the only thing that bothered me was poop smell. It was mild but breathing it for 4 hours isn't pleasant.

The Bad:

This course was too expensive for what you get.

Looks like someone dumped old equipment and tires on the course, so it’s not pretty.

The restrooms all over need to be better maintained. This was not pleasant.

The course was in an overall good condition but, I would expect to pay less than $50 with a cart for 18-holes.

The Good:

The double cheeseburger was fantastic and the staff are super friendly.

Unless it’s an absolute bargain, I won’t play this course again.
