good test
I liked the condition of the course. It had some long par 4s and one long par 5. keep the ball in the fairway and you should score well. Could hold the greens with irons. Puts were true. Pro shop was dismisive, but after I paid I had a great time.
Nice, flat course
Another gem located in the east bay. Course is flat which is a break from the norm in the area w/most of the other tracks being built into the hills. Have played here several times now & course conditions are always ideal - nice, lush fairways & well maintained greens!
Once again, Golfnow makes this a treat w/round for under $30.
Greens in great shape
It has been some years since I've played this tract, but I must say they have put it into great shape. I remember it being a bit dumpy but the greens were perfect, and there were very few issues in the fairway. My only complaint would be the sand traps are a bit hard and could do with a new layer. Great course for the money!
Can be a slow round.
Marshals don't do much to speed up play. One slow group can be cause for a long round.
Very Windy day but a lot of fun.
Had a good day with a golf buddy playing the course. I do like the staff from Bob from check in to Summer the cart girl.
Course in good condition, pace of play was a bit slow
The greens were in good condition, and would have been better if people fixed their ball marks (I fix mine plus others that I see that are close to mine). Fairways were nice, also. Pace of play was a tad slow the first 9 holes or so and then sped up after the foursome in front of us dropped to a twosome at the end of the first 9 holes (2 guys only played 9 holes?). When the wind blows (it was fairly calm when we played), this course can be a LOT harder.
Good layout .
5 hours and 15 mins for round of golf. Way too long . Marshall's no where to be found. Took one group 15 mins to putt every hole and one group would not hit until group in front was on green. They were hitting from the Blues and not very long hitters. Plus they were mostly playing in the trees after their drives.
The course was in really good shape
I have stayed away from this course due to the price, but found a great deal on golfnow and went for it. The proshop staffer was rather disinterested and curt, but I got out ok and actually teed off 20 minutes ahead of my tee time. The course was in really good shape and not too crowded for a tuesday. I really appreciated the fellow golfers on the course who were all friendly and allowed me to play thru without hesitation. Everyone seemed nice with the exception of the one pro shop employee, but hey, we all have bad days. Found the back 9 to be much more narrow than the front and a little more challenging. Wind conditions were fair as the layout does offer some blockage. greens rolled true and were nicely maintained, Golf carts seemed new and in good running order. overall, I will try again if I can find a reasonable rate.
The course was open for play on time and easy to move through
I played with three other people who also enjoyed the 18 hole round of golf
Good place to play.
Nice course. With a club house for drinks food and sports bar.
Classic layout, plays long. Slow greens, terrible range mats.
I used to play this course often many years ago in the late 1980's when I was stationed at the navy base next door. I like the classic style layout with tree lined fairways, doglegs, water along the Par 5's and long Par 4's. I was really suprised how slow the greens are. They look in very good condition, but found them to be quite bumpy and just plain slow.
The real disappointment was the condition of the practice range hitting mats. I am not a big fan of hitting mats to begin with but understand they save a lot of maintenance. However, you should replace them occasionally just so they feel somewhat normal. Plus, I think the mats are somewhat sloped downhill???
Some of the mat were beat down so bad it was pathetic. I had to use my own tee because the one in the mat looked like it was chewed up by a dog.
I would play here more often if I lived closer. The speed of the greens and practice range are tough to ovecome though.
Spring Tune Up
Great course to tune up your game. Flat and long with clean greens and limited hazards. Great place to play if your teaching someone the game or playing with a group with varying skill levels.
I was pleasantly surprised by the condition of this course.
The condition of the greens is outstanding for a heavily played course. The maintenance crew is doing a great job. I've never seen this course in better condition and I've played here for years.
Great conditions, with GolfNow, great price.
Course is in excellent condition. Greens best shape of public courses in the area. Fairways almost lush. Sand traps have "workable" quantity, quality and texture...not dry/hard pan...
Best Muni Course around
A great walking course. Tee boxes, fairway and greens are in Great shape. The greens are "rolled" and can be a great challenge for the average golfer. A Friday crowd of couples and once a week players but all was flowing smoothly thanks to the Marshals that were always watching the pace of play. Sand traps could use a little better sand but over all the course played very well.
Best conditions ever
Greens were in excellent shape. Played a bunch of courses in the last month and these are the best greens so far. Everyone else is still trying to get over punching their greens but not coming back soon enough for golf in early part of season.
course in good shape
as with all courses right now the greens were a little fluffy, not the semi-fast greens I'm used to at this course. Also as is the case soon after plugging ans sanding the greens were different from hole to hole, making scoring a little difficult.
Fairways are lush and rough is rough, also keeping your score honest.
Still a good course and a good layout. Fun to play.
Single
Course was in ok shape. Greens needed to be cut. But my biggest problem was you can't book a single. Even if you called the course yourself. Now this isn't Edge Wood but come on Diablo Creek let singles on.
Very nice course. The two nines are very different in style and layout.
Course is in great shape. Greens were aereated recently, but other than that the course is in very good condition.
I like the difference between the two nines. The back nine is the old style tree lined, tighter with shorter holes. The front nine is more open but with longer holes and more water hazards.
Wind can also be a factor here.
conditions are great
all ways well taken care of. flat and long with lots of trees. very fair if you stay straight if not you pay with strokes. overall great place to golf
