Awesome Day
Diablo Creek is one of the best conditioned courses in the East Bay. The greens were perfect and so was the weather. The fairways were smooth and nicely
mown. I have seen the tee boxes better. We went off
at noon (twosome) and played in 3 1/2 hours. A great day at a fun course.
Great Muni Track
This is one of the best public courses in the Bay Area. Course is in excellent shape. Greens were quick but fair. Only compliant is the pace of play was very slow because they had let two groups of five out and we never saw a marshall helping to move them along. A mid week round of 5 hrs is to long.
Okay course, terrible pace of play...
The course was okay. Fair shape and design, BUT THE PACE OF PLAY was ridiculously slow. What's even worse is that I saw the cart lady about 5 times, but the course marshal 0 times! Me and a friend tee'd off at 12:16PM in which we were grouped up with another 2 some, but we didn't get to finish our round. The 4 some in front of us was so slow we ended up calling it due to darkness after the 16th hole.
If the course is gonna charge more than other local courses, please have someone speed up the play.
THE D.C
I have played Diablo Creek golf course many times it is a great course. The greens are always in fantastic shape they really take good care of the whole golf course. Bob and Lenny are also wonderful staff members that work there. Also the food at legends is wonderful as well
It's an Okay Course
Nice greens. Fairways are mostly green (I suppose the rains have made a difference), always feels long to me. This is one course where I don't do that good (as a 16 handicap). DC tends to be charging a little more than the other area courses. But not this time as it is a Tuesday afternoon in autumn and GolfNow had a hot deal the night before I played.
Terrible customer service
Booked a tee time for 11:04, didn't get out till 11:44. The lady in the pro shop advised us that there is a 30 minute window of when you book a tee time. I've used golf now forever and have never heard of this. Is this something new?
GolfNow
Please do a better job at letting online users know that the price paid at the course is either walking or riding. It's frustrating to get to the course thinking you are paying one price only to find out it's much higher with riding vs. walking, Consumers pay a fee for your service; please make it clear what is to be paid to the course.
And on another note; I played the previous weekend at Lone Tree; fortunately the course was nice enough to let me know the price on GolfNow was more than a promotional rate they had. It saved me $24 dollars; and the course didn't have to do that. Why then should I pay for your service if it's inaccurate? Try harder!
Fall Conditions
We played the back 9 holes twice because the front 9 were being aerated and they were adding mulch to the fairways. Played 18 holes in 2 hours and 35 minutes!! Price was great. I had fun!!
Best course, best price in area
I play lots of golf in this general area and I am of firm belief that Diablo Creek is the best value. The tee boxes, fairways and greens are all in good shape. Yes, there are a few spots here and there that need some TLC, but overall the fairways provide good lies and greens run smooth.
Wind can create more of a challenge on the front as it is more exposed - especially on the lengthy 4th hole. The back 9 provides more trees for protection.
A major caveat for 1st timers coming out there is that the white tees play 6400 yds, so don't just step up to the whites and think it's like most courses. There is a gold set that plays 6000.
Fairways are narrow and if you find yourself above the hole expect a tough putt.
I paid $44 for green fee, cart and lunch (drink not included) which is a great deal.
Flat and long fairways with lots of mature trees in between to punish errant tee shots...but always a fun course to play.
We always enjoy Diablo Creek as its usually in better condition than many of the other daily fee courses---and even some of the area's private courses. The layout is long and flat on most holes, but lots of trees line the fairways so you need to keep your tee shots in the fairways if you hope to score pars/birdies---or even bogies sometimes! The course can sometimes experience slower play on weekends but what else is new for daily fee courses?! Our round today, however, was completed in four hours with little if any waiting. Afterwards, you can grab some grub and grog at Legends, the on-site restaurant. The food and drink are always good with happy hour starting at 4pm most days.
A decent course
I play here a few times a month and I enjoy this course. Today was an outlier as the wind blew moderately across the course which I feel is the worst kind. Over the years though I do not recall wind issues at DC. The big challenge this day was that we followed a senior tournament, pushing the round to 5 1/2 hours! I can attest to the fact that on weekdays the course plays under 5 hours, so advice is do not play there mornings on Mondays.
I paid $44 for golf, cart, an lunch through GolfNow. Usual rates with cart are mid $40 range, but from tee to green the course is in good shape.
Also be aware that white tees play 6200-6400 yds.
Very friendly staff both in the pro shop and restaurant. Accommodated us by moving our tee time because we were running a bit late. Will come back! Had a fun time.
This course has very good greens
I always enjoy playing this course. The greens are well maintained. They have a friendly staff as well.
well maintained- good price
This course is well maintained. It has a nice putting green and ok driving range, we played after work for $25 and finished in about 3 hours. Theres a cool little bar to grab a drink after and the staff is helpful. If I had one suggestion it would be a drink cart. Overall this is a great place to play for the $.
