Bit expensive
For some reason it seems this course is not with the same page if you book using golf now. Sometimes there will be a conflict with time and this time we had issue with prices.
With golf now it was $41 but when we went to pay at the club house they charged $55 ( included $5 deposit for cart key)
Overall its a decent place to play golf and they maintain the course well
Foursome for tea
The staff was very helpful. Somehow our tee time didn't show up in the system, but they still got us in the course.
Good but not great
Tee boxes were some of the best I've seen in the North Bay. Fairways were in very good condition - close cut, minimal leaf litter and only an occasional bare or muddy spot. Rough was cut to 2-3 inches, with none of the clover and weeds that make finding a ball difficult. Greens were the best I've played this year in the North Bay public courses, however, too many had grass clippings and other debris left from the day's mowing. Two greens had some minor turf damage off to one side, but all the greens were tightly cut, smooth and rolled true. Bunkers were dry, but offered only the very thin sand layer we are accustomed to in this area. The course layout offered a few challenges, like the 600yd par 5, the sneaky creek in front of the #10 green and a couple of tiered/mounded greens, but by and large it was not overly challenging. It was very well signed, making it easy to get from green-to-tee. The service was prompt and the staff was helpful enough. The driving range is one of the better in the North Bay (balls in good shape, well flagged, long, flat). It is also long enough to accommodate grass tees in place of the very badly worn mats. The putting/chipping area is large. There is no place to practice pitching or sand play. I look forward to going back, but I will wait for a good rate.
Slow Walkers kill the vibe
Rode as a two-some behind a walking/carrying 4-some who should have been on an East Bay Parks trail instead of playing golf. They fell a hole and a half behind while taking post-shot practice swings and 2 minute 2 feet putts. No marshalls on the course. Course was soggy. I usually enjoy playing it, but not yesterday
An OK Round
The price seems high for the quality of the golf course, it is challenging on the Par 5's, but the rest of the course is pretty easy. There were no Marshalls on the course, which became an issue when a 2-some jumped our spot on the back 9. It became a serious situation and should not have been allowed as we were not holding up pace of play.
Long course with some water hazards
Course was in great shape considering all the rain we have had this winter. Cart path only so pace of play was a little slower than normal. This course is long and if you don't hit your drives over 200 yards most of the par 4's will take 3 shots to get on. Still fun to play and the green are very good and fast. All fairways have been mowed and are drying out well.
All around great course to play
The course is in very good shape. Greens are in excellent shape. We bought the 18 hole Lunch Special and it was a great bargain. Legends makes an awesome chicken ceaser salad bowl.
good but over priced
playing the blue tees in the wind makes this course truly a worthwhile challenge. The 3rd whole par 5 is 600 yards and plays about about 660 when the wind is blowing. The next part 3 played 228 (range finder) from the blue tees. From the white tees it is way to short
for some reason the management would rather have no one playing before reducing the rates from $42. It is over priced during the week. They could make a lot more for the city by dropping the rates and increasing play
Someone needs to audit the driving range revenues and the $5 key deposits refunds.
Great course for the Ladies
Red tee placement gives a great advantage for those that don't hit a long ball..like me! Fairways and greens in great shape for August.
Diablo Creek
Well kept, greens in excellent condition. Flat, park lands type course.
Disblo creek
Course was in good shape. I was able to play front nine really fast, got slow on back nine. I played solo. Had a great time.
A fantastic public course
I have played this course a few times over the past 18 months and its condition has always remained outstanding. In fact, compared to the more expensive courses in the region, this one easily surpasses.
Battle at the DC
Diablo Creek golf course a.k.a. the DC is a great course. They really take care of the golf course. The greens there roll true. My friend Douggiefresh and I had a tee time there at 12:48. We were battling back-and-forth. We always have a good time there. Also a big shout out to Lenny who works there he's been cordial and professional every time we go there. I just wish they would lower their prices just a tad.
Great course, wide fairways.
Good local course, great conditions. Very flat and wide fairways.
Good value
Overall good condition and value for money
Diablo Creek
Nice course.I play it again
Diablo Creek Aerated
The course was OK considering the recently aerated greens - it definitely improved the pace of play with fewer golfers.
No drought conditions at Diablo Creek
Fairways and greens at This East Bay course are in impeccable condition.... You would never suspect we are in the midst of a 4-year drought. What's a One word description for conditions of all 18 greens? Velvet! Brand spanking new electric carts and a well-maintained practice facility adjacent to clubhouse adds to the experience. Our round was completed in under 4 hours on a warm Tuesday afternoon with the pace of play very satisfactory. We'll be back here next time we visit Contra Costa County.
Good course, good value
This course is in pretty good shape, even with the drought. Check putter cups before you put to make sure there are no lip outs. Grill is spectacular and the staff is awesome. The course is also right off the freeway and extremely easy to access. I recommend this course.
I totally agree with the prices there. I used to play there all the time. They can make more money if they lower the green fees. I have been driving past the golf course for the last 10 years. Now when I drive by I hardly see anyone playing there it's Diablo Creek not the Olympic club!!!! drop your rates.
