Mesa Linda at Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club

We played Mesa Linda and it was incredibly slow for a Saturday. We came upon the Marshall at the snack shop and he was asleep in his cart to the point he was snoring. He obviously wasn’t doing his job. They need to be more on top of players instead to witness, this was an embarrassment for the course.

This course is lawless chaos. Backed up immediately off the first tee. The crazy part is they have a Marshall unlike other courses with terrible pace of play issues, but he just drove by twice and didn’t do anything about it. I will pay any of my friends $50 NOT to play here.

Had a 9:30 tee time at didn’t get off first tee until 10:10. On hole 3 a par three there were 4 groups of 5 in front of us. 3 hours to play 9 holes. Just left after 9 because it was so brutally slow.

9:06 tee time. Course is so poorly managed. Way too many bookings. When we arrived, we paid and were not told that they start times were significantly delayed. About 10 minutes before our start time, I went to check in with the Starter. He said that they were 30 minutes behind. Ultimately, we started our round 50 minutes late. 5 hours later we finished our round. So, basically a 6-hour round. Most of the players waiting said this was "normal". Hard to understand how the course manager(s) would not do something to correct the problem.

Fivesomes should not be allowed on the course on the weekends. They are way too slow and slow down play. We started at 12:30pm and left the course at 5pm only on hole 14.

Tee off time was 1:15pm at LosLagos After 25 minutes waiting we were able to first tee off.

We finished 9 holes at 5:15 pm.

Too much slow.

I love this course but the greens had recently been aerated so putting was pretty hilarious. I didn’t notice anything mentioning this and feel green fees should have been discounted a little for this.

But overall it was a good round. I love the two courses here.

Overall I was happy. The greens were punched 1 week prior, but in decent condition. Fairways had several bare spots.

Five and a half hours for a round is way too slow. People need to learn to hit a ball before attempting this course.

The Marshal said 5 1/2 hours is not unusual here. Oh dear!

Not sure how this happens but it ruins the experience for everyone. We have all been in a round at 5+ hours and it’s a brutal experience. Letting groups of 5 out with no carts is unforgivable. Not having marshals driving around and telling folks to keep up with pace of play is a big miss. We walked off after the 8th hole. It took 2.5 hrs to play 8 holes; from 10am - 12:30. Waiting on every tee box. Really disappointing that they oversell this course and jam as many people in as possible. Cam’t imagine what the afternoon backup is.

The course is in pretty good shape and the greens were great, so bummed it took so long.

Pretty good course conditions but still too many players on the course. With a pre-twilight tee time, 3 hrs to finish the front 9.

The pace is terrible! Tee time at 12::30p, finished around 6pm. Fee is $47 walking, cart additional $26 each person. That’s a lot for a cart charge! Total $73 for this course is not worth the money !

3 hours for the first 9 holes, overall 5.5 hours for 18 holes - is totally un-acceptable.

The slowest course ever - 5.5 hours for a round - over-packed with slow players. Even the Marshall said this was not unusual, as we left.

If you want to play golf - instead of always standing around in a queue of 2-4 playing groups waiting to play the next hole - choose a different course.

For me? - - never again at Costa Mesa CC, Los Lagos. Disgraceful.

Every round is so slow. Played on a Friday morning and it took forever. It makes golf not fun. Greens were awful. Tee boxes were awful. Never playing another round here.
