Unfortunately Never Going Back
Last week I played Los Lagos side and it took 6 hours and 35 minutes to play. Yesterday I played Mesa Linda side and played for 6 hours and only finished 15 holes. It’s an absolute shame that whoever is in charge of setting the tee times doesn't spread them out by 5-10 minutes more. It’s unbearable to pull up to every tee box with 2 foursomes waiting to tee off. The starter, Sean, has the worst attitude I’ve ever come across. Like why have this job if you hate everyone so much. The Marshall has the easiest job in the world. He literally just drives around and doesnt stop or talk to anyone. It’s actually pretty funny. Play here if you like to play a 5000 yard course in 6 and a half hours. I wasted $70. Oh and the cart fee is a comical $26 and you have to share if you’re 2 singles and they’re running low on carts.
Don't have the time
I love playing Los Lagos but this last round was it for me
I know that it's usually a 5 hr round but yesterday
I played the longest round I've ever played 6.5 hrs and yes I stuck it out !! But it was absolutely painful and unnecessary
Stop over booking the course it's greedy and unfair to your golfers !! And get your Tee times back on schedule starting 25 minutes past tee times is just crap
Unbelievably Slow
Teed off on Lagos at 12:30. By 2:30 we had two holes completed. No less than 6 groups stacked up on #2. Instead of finding the slow groups and speeding them up, Marshals instead drive and pick up trash. After 4 1/2 hrs I had to quit in 12 when there were still 4 groups stacked up. Absolutely ridiculous. I will never play an afternoon round there again. Not worth the 6 1/2 hours of my time.
Poor customer service at checkin
The guy who works the check-in window on Thursday mornings is one of the rudest/unfriendliest people that I and my other 3 companions have encountered at any golf course. He won't check you in until everyone in your group is standing at the window. So, if you arrive early (30 minutes) and want to practice on the driving range before your round, you have to go into the clubhouse, pay for the balls, go practice, and then come back later to check in. Instead of being able to check in, pay for your round and the bucket of balls and not have to come back. That's bad enough, but his demeanor and tone are rude. He obviously didn't pay attention in the "Best practices for customer service" class. This Club has 2 courses and is almost always busy, so maybe they don't really care. The good news is that everyone else there is very friendly and helpful. Too bad that one bad apple can spoil your day, before it even gets started.
1st time
Starter guy is not nice, pace of play is very slow there's 3 flights stack at the tee mound.
Pace of play
Pace of play was really slow; course needs to have Marshalls watch and speed up the slow groups that hold up the pace of play.
Terrible pace of play
Course in good condition. Greens vary nice. Pace of play was miserable 5 1/2 hours.
Costa Mesa
I play here a lot because of the 2 different courses allow for different playing experiences. It is simply over booked. Most of the staff is friendly. I have had a few starters and Marshall’s I absolutely love and others who don’t represent the course well. The same statement goes towards the pro shop. I have had 6.5 hour rounds out here. I have left early multiple times due to bad pace of play. Nobody should go here expecting to have good pace of play. It’s 10 minutes per tee box MOST days and has been worse. If they could figure out pace of play it would be the best bargain in Southern California. Fairways aren’t elite but good enough and the greens are better than almost any other public course around.
Slowest day ever
I love this course, it is one of my favorites. However, on this day, the marshall let a group of 5 men go ahead of our two-some. He told us not to worry that they would play fast. Famous, last, words. They were very slow, bad shots and insisted from playing from the back tees. 5 hours later and we still were not able to finish as it had become dark. How does the course management let this happen and then complain about pace of play??? That's 5 hours and $120 I'll never get back.
Early start makes for fast play
Greens good
Tees fair to good
Fairways very good
Completed 18 3.5 hrs!!!
