The management of tee times is poor.

For instance: I there was a twosome ahead of us but our tee time had 5 people. It took us 4.75 hours to complete the round on a Tuesday. And it's not because there were 5 of us. The people in front were backed up on almost every hole...

So I have played this course several times and love the course itself .

The experience sorta takes a cold shower at the starters window when checking in. I'm not sure why the person checking you in is so very miserable every time as if it's an interruption in their life to deal with you. Not friendly is an understatement .

Trying to get a breakfast sandwich at the snack bar can be an adventure as there's only one person that seems to be taking orders and cashiering bussing and serving ! Why I don't know . Pace of play is just miserable last round 5 hours and before that a record 6.5 hrs that I would have walked off of if I wasn't garnering a handicapped round. Enforcing Marshall is NON EXISTENT !!

Lovely course that should not take more than 4-4.5 hours to finish 18 holes .

I cancelled my latest reservation to play there after reading all the pace of play complaints .

Course conditions good, but starter manor so bad.

I made a tee time reserved with golfnow on August 13rd, 2023.

I played this course sometime and I saw some group with 5 sum player, I'd like to make sure and called to proshop and asked them about 5 sum players.

They said, it'll be okay but get approval from director Kiyle when we come to course to play.

I requested 5 sum when I get there to play but he said , Kyle is off today and only 4 sum can play.

I drove an hour to this clubs with other 4 friends

and 1 of my friend couldn't play and back to LA.

I'm very disappointed regarding this course policy.

Most golf course play 4 and some course accept 5.

without any approval.

I don't like this course management.

Just make 4 sum a like other many course

This is a nice course but it’s very slow and there are some major knuckleheads playing here.

Over 3 hours for 9 Holes they need to spread out the starting times and charge more if they need to.

came here on a sunday twilight with my 6 year old to have him watch his uncle and i play golf. starter said that no spectators were allowed and he charged me for my son to come watch. as soon as i get on the course at least a dozen guys brought there wife/significant other to drive the cart around while they played. unbelievable attitude in front of my kid who is trying to take up the game. btw don't bother to reach out to their pros via e-mail or the course on instagram as they dont ever respond. Glad there are better places for juniors than this place.

too slow. finally gave up on 15 after four hours of waiting for groups in front of us. And this is "par for the course".

Tee time too close together… over three hours to play 9 holes

I typically don’t leave reviews, but this really warrants one. My experience here has been very bad and I usually don’t. Expect much or complain. I just want a reasonable pace of oaky and not have to play with jerks or idiots. At this golf course you have to put up with a very slow pace of play and have to play with some losers who think they’re are going to be playing on the PGA tour and would be lucky, cheating and all to shoot a round close to ten over. My last round I played with a guy who was playing in the “city tournament” and he stated he had a 2 handicap. However, when we were playing this guy was constantly missing the tee and would wander around the course in search of his golf ball. A couple of times he would have hit my ball if I didn’t stop him.

When I tried to explain ready he just looked at me like I was explaining nuclear physics. This poor guy wasn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer, and I tried to be nice, but after he accused me of taking someone’s golf ball I had enough. I realize he was slow, and made a mistake, but stupidity is one thing being a jerk too is a whole other set of problems especially when he is hitting golf balls near me.

I did manage to find another group to play with, and it went much smoother, but Mr. Congeniality managed to catch up to me and was babbling more nonsense. I’ve never met a loon like this on the golf course, and I’ve met some real losers, but this guy takes the cake.

I would stay away from this course unless you want to be sitting in your golf cart watching the grass grow. The management has no clue what they are doing and will not even return a phone call.

My first time here, encountered a less than friendly guy when inquiring about adding a cart to my golf now reservation. Paid golf now a small fee and then paid again in full at the course. My biggest complaint is lack of gps. There are two courses so I felt lost. Probably my own fault. But lack of gps and zero stakes in the fairway not helpful at all. Still felt decent value. Snack shack closed at 5 which gave us little option at the turn. I’ll be back for sure. But get some GPS we’re in Newport for christs sake.

The course is probably a 7 out of ten in itself. But the pace of play here every single time I’ve played here is absolutely unbearable. So if you’re planning to play here, plan for a 6 hour round. If you can do that then play here.

Have played both Costa Mesa Golf Course many times.

This was the second time within 6-weeks for playing the Los Lagos side.

No exaggeration to say it set a personal record for slowest pace of pla y(5 1/2 hours+ when we finally finished)..

There were minimum of two foursomes ALWAYS in front of our foursome.

On two tee boxes there were three foursomes waiting--plus ours).

A Marshall drove up to me at one point and apologized for the slow pace of play explaining that they regularly have been overbooking.

Maybe you'll get lucky though on your next outing.

Play time was a third of our overall wait time. We called it & ended after the 14th because we were fourth in line to tee off.

Pace a little slow first 2 holes. Typical to other public courses.

Fairways are green and watered. Ongoing sodding of balding areas.

Tees are good and not hard.

Roughs are well mowed but grass is stiff. Sometimes grabs the club (as is intended)

Traps are manicured daily. About 1 inch deep soft sand. Just enough for a blast out. Only JUST ENOUGH.

One green was a little rough. Others good and consistent. Players LEAVING a lot of ball marks.

Golfer EDIQUETTE is lacking here as is the case EVERYWHERE. We all need to be reminding our fellow players how to be a polite and safe Golfer. And fix the ball marks!

Great value for price although place of play can be super slow on busy days. Can take up to 6 hours. I recommend playing on days when weather isn't as nice or evening times for faster play times.
