Beautiful Day in Costa Mesa
There are two courses here. They are both kept up very nicely. Greens run true and fairly fast. Big fairways and the biggest tee boxes I’ve ever seen!
The pace of play is always slow even with two courses. Great cafe and bar and nice practice facility.

Los Lagos
Everything was really good, except for the pace was kind of slow. Other than that really good course!

5 groups waiting on a par three tee box on a Monday 4pm round.

Horribly slow play - put on your patience cap
We played the Los Lagos course. Very slow play and no marshal to do anything about it. Sometimes there were 3 groups waiting on a tee. If you play here, wear your patience cap.

GREAT COURSE- IF STARTING BEFORE 8AM
If you are looking to play this course, it is a very solid course as long as you start around before 8:00 a.m. In previous trips to this course, the amount of time that you would spend waiting on tee boxes and preparing your next shot would bring the round to close to 5 and 1/2 or 6 hours but if started early, it can make for a very nice experience (perhaps the clubhouse should space out tee times more). The course is consistently in good shape from t-box to the green and is wide open enough to be forgiving for the newest player but also designed to provide a serious challenge to even experienced players.

Would not honor golf now price
The pro shop would not honor the GolfNow rate.
They wanted to charge $20 more.
I showed him my reservation email with the price of $40 and he still wanted $60.
I was not willing to pay the additional money.
I hope Golf now is able to handle this and not charge me for a no-show.

Nice municipal course
The course has well kept fairways and perfectly manicured greens. Greens layout was nice and the pin positions were challenging. No flat straight putts. Price was very reasonable. We did a 4hrs round on a weekday which is really not too fast. Definitely will come back and play again. Highly Recommended!!

Good but slow pace of play
Costa Mesa Country Club offers a great golfing experience with its friendly staff, enjoyable parkland-style courses, and scenic surroundings. The staff members were welcoming and provided excellent service throughout our visit, enhancing the overall experience. The parkland courses were well-designed, featuring lush fairways, beautiful trees, and strategically placed bunkers that added both challenge and visual appeal.
However, one aspect that hindered our experience was the frustratingly slow pace of play. The high demand for golf combined with limited course availability resulted in longer waiting times and disrupted the flow of our rounds. Despite this setback, the overall experience at Costa Mesa Country Club remains positive, with its great staff and enjoyable courses.

Extremely Slow Play
We t-offed @ 2 PM Monday afternoon, and the pace of play was excruciatingly slow. There were 2 teams waiting on every t-box. It took us 3 hours to finish the front 9, and almost 3 hours to finish the back 9. We barely finished !!! You guys have to do something about the pace of play !!! I remember before COVID, when you let out 5 walkers. It was a nightmare, so I stopped playing here. Last Monday round reminded me of them times. I don't think I will be playing here again !!!

Excellent twilight course
Played twilight after work for years during daylight saving time. It gets pretty slow on the par 3s. I always get to finish 12 holes which takes me right next to the clubhouse. The greens are in excellent condition for a city course. Fairways are great most of the year, will see some brown patches here and there late summer and early fall. Totally worth the value.
