Decent course, nickel and diming customers
Course is decent. Windy area. Usually play this course every 3-4 times a year. Because of covid, I thought they would allow us to have different golf carts. They charged us an extra golf cart fee even though I live in a different household than the person I was playing with. Disappointing as we paid 140 and you would allow us to have an extra golf cart. The second rider is at risk of covid and is 65 years old. If he gets covid it’s on Classic Club! Not coming back. Better, less expensive courses around the area.
Will not be playing this course again
Anyone who thinks this course is in good shape has never played a halfway decent golf course. I now it is tempting to play this course for a low rate, but don’t waste your time driving out there to play. If it’s windy, you are definitely screwed. But even if it’s a clear day, it’s not worth it. The greens have more craters than the moon. I heard it used to be a good track back in the day, but it’s not what it used to be.
Great views, average course
Beautiful weather but the course was in rough shape. Some very wet spots. The greens were spotty. Would not return until the course is in better shape.
Challenging, fun course
Course is challenging. Conditions could be a little better. Greens are a little beat up and sandy. Great value. Friendly staff.
Decent course for a little lower rate.
The course is a nice layout and plenty of room on most holes. The course will challenge all levels of players. The greens had a little sand on them but we’re decent but the traps were in terrible condition. They had compact sand with a ton on rocks it was almost like hitting off hard pan. The average golfer has no chance in these traps. You really have to know how to play bad lies to play in these traps. The pace of play was good and the overall was good for a $50 round. We paid $72 so I don’t feel 100% on this deal. There are a lot of good golf deals out there so ir was one of those been there do that kind of experience. I would play it again for less but not more than $50.
Course was on good shape but the greens needed to be better.
good and only going to get better
course is coming out of fall maintenance with the greens mostly recovered and the fairways a little spotty yet as the over seeding had not fully filled in. Still a pleasure what with the remote feel the lack of houses and the wildlife. Got to play on a calm morning so the wind factor was not an issue
Great course
Best golf value around. Great views, helpful staff.
Good track. Sad no body comes out here.
I returned to golfing after a 10 year hiatus, and made my first trip 12 miles from Palm Desert to Desert Dunes. I have played here half dozen or so times before. . The course layout hasn’t changed. A very nice design, as noted by Robert Trent Jones. This course had hosted US Open local qualifiers in past decades, as well as Canadian tour events. #legit. Perfect weather for my round 70 degrees no wind at all. Conditions are fine. Not great. But there is hardly anyone out here playing. Teed off just after 9 am on a Monday as a single. Went around in under 3 hours. Caught up to nobody. Bunkers are wet and hard packed. This is a good value. I recommend. Can be hella windy especially in the spring time when the westerly winds are churning the windmills just to the west.
Long Walks
Fairways are generous, approach shots, chips, etc. to these crowned, hard and fast greens will keep you guessing all day.
For older people, the walks from cart path to greens and back present a problem. 30-40 yards almost every hole. You will be tired at the end of the day.
Overall a very attractive, challenging course.
And no one is there! Sunday morning tee time, played in 3.5 hours as a twosome.
We loved it
The staff were wonderful and we got on the tee right away. Neither of us had played it before so when we drove to hit our tee shots it was quite a shock to see the layout of the fairway. The front nine was like playing in Scotland, really interesting holes with very elevated greens. The back was totally different, beautiful tree lined fairways. We had a great time, very nice course.
Progress
First off I have played this course many times being a local . It has 1 thing that really hurts it. 92240 is probably the worst city in riverside county. Corruption crime and filth, are the cities motto and unfortunately those qualities are spilling on this once great course.
Bad weather!
Course lay out was good but needs work.
All workers were extremely friendly and professional!
Very windy 30-50 mph)
