Best Bank for the Buck Track
I don't think you can find a better value than this course. $30 for 18 holes with a cart is amazing. If this course had a driving range I would never leave. Typically this course is in really good condition for what you pay. The pin placement is very difficult at times...almost impossible. But this last time I played the greens were like concrete. The ball would not stop or hold. If you didn't make it in the cup you were a gonner. Still a fun course to play.
I'd play here again
First time playing this course and because of the neighborhood my expectations were a little higher. The course was fine, nothing to write home about. The level of difficulty was nice because it was harder than my personal skillset so I appreciate the water hazards everywhere and the strategizing that was forced upon me. It was early February so there's an excuse for the grass being dead but I can't say the tee boxes were that maintained. The clubhouse was absolutely empty and still using COVID as an excuse to offer nothing. I get that merch isn't a high seller and storage for course is a pain, but try a little. Turn a TV on or something. Paid 1.50 for a bottle of water from a cooler full of lukewarm water, no ice. At the end of the day, I'm not complaining. It was a beautiful Saturday and I'd play there again.
Course conditions
The course is fun and challenging but moves at a very slow pace and it’s obvious that no money is going into the maintenance of the course. Some serious repair work is needed to get this course in shape. The green fees are too expensive for the poor condition of the course.
Extremely Challenging
The greens had been shaved down to brown, but they putted very smoothly. On a few greens if you had a downhill putt, you either sunk the putt or had a 10-15 ft (or more) putt back up the hill. On those holes the maintenance staff should place the pins on the flattest section of the green and not move them until the grass comes back in. Otherwise, everything was standard winter conditions.
Great Course, Painfully Slow Pace of Play
Played a full round in a cart today and it took over 5 hours to complete. Seems like the course was just way overbooked with very slow ones, twos and foursomes. Was very unexpected for a weekday round.
Chastain
!st time played in 40 yrs, played long, did not score well
Payment
Tried to call the pro shop during business hours to make a tee time. Nobody picked up after five different attempts. Had to go to GolfPass and pay twice the rate for four of us. Very disappointed.
Could be number one course in Atlanta
The city of Atlanta does nothing to improve the conditions of Chastain Golf Course. The layout is great but the cart paths are beyond repair, causing golfers to drive on the course. The fairways are rutted up because of neglected maintenance of cart paths.
Very poor
Maybe one of the most frustrating golf outings I’ve ever had. First, we were 20 minutes late teeing off because they were so backed up. We then had to wait a minimum of 10 minutes to tee off on each hole. 2 and 3 groups on each tee box waiting. We left after 9 and it had taken 3 hours. The course is actually well kept and a fun layout, but the pace of play is so bad, that I will not be going back.
