Chastain Park Golf Course

The course itself is fine. Good to decent layout, greens are in great shape. But my god, this is slowest course to play. I’ve played weekends, weekdays, random times. There’s no avoiding a 5 hour round unless you go off at sunrise.

Course is in great condition, greens should not be cut so short and allowed to be green. Thanks!

The staff is kind of what you expect from a muni. they don’t want to be there and they don’t try to hide it. don’t expect much from them and good luck getting them to answer a phone. clubhouse is in really poor shape, which is a shame bc it looks like it could offer much more, i.e unused grill, closed restrooms in lower level. course itself is in decent shape and design is okay, little tight, but pace of play is a nightmare. 5 hour min on weekends. make sure to pack a cooler as there are coolers on course but never filled with water.

Course is in good nick, bunkers have been re-done, really nice (not that you want to be in them). Re-jigged the course, starts at 4th to 9th, then 1st-3rd finishes from 9th. Back 9 the same. I dont know why the clubhouse is closed and toilets are closed beneath clubhouse. Also no water on course. Bring a cooler if you want water/beer/food.....

The course has nice elevation adjustments from various tees which are nice change ups. Narrow in places that make it challenging. And if you get out at the right time especially not the weekend nice pace.

If you like golf it is a good course to get a round.

Cart paths are in horrible shape. Someone is going to be injured if they are not repaired!!

Course in very good condition. Early morning parking very challenging.

As munis go, it's a solid intown one with some really challenging holes. I enjoy playing it, especially for the price.

But I played on a Sunday about 10:15 and was surprised to find they had literally no food. Not a bag of chips, a Powerbar. Nothing. Nothing in the clubhouse, and no cart girl. If you think you'll be hungry during your round, you have to bring your own food. And they've removed all the water jugs on the course, so don't count on those either. They did have some bottles of water for sale in the clubhouse, but they don't allow coolers, and those little water bottles go quickly on a hot day. I'm sure there's some Covid excuse for all of this, but I think it's absurd. And if they're doing that, they should send an alert to everyone before their round to let them know because I've never encountered this before.

Anyway, not a bad course. But I wished someone had told me about all this before I went, so I wanted to let others know.

Don’t come here if you value pace of play. On pace for a 7.5 hour round this weekend.

We sat at the first tee for an HOUR….yes you see that right, an hour. Due to me being only one player. Was told he was trying to fit us into a group until we see 4 groups of 4 tee off while waiting at the first tee. When we made a comment he said that he was not trying to let us take someones tee time….come on now. Clubhouse had no food or drink, fairways were pretty if you like looking at dirt under your ball. I guess the greens were good..? Yeah I wouldnt reccomend even to my worst enemy

This course is always crowded but the. Spacing was especially poor when i played even though it wasn’t crowded. The assignment of an intermediate player like me with less distance players made the round arduous.
