A Tale of 2 9's
The 1st hole of an awkward hole but the rest of the front 9 is moderately easy.. the back 9 requires you to place your shot due to tight fairways and elevated greens. A very nice blend of hole \, greens are in good shape as is the course.
Forget this course
$41.50 for this dump...(outrageous) I know the history of this course...used to be a favorite of the old Tour....50s and 60s...was used as a warm-up for the Masters, etc....PGA of America offered in the late 70s to flip the bill and make North Fulton a model of public golf...Atlanta City Council would not even meet with them...Forget this course...a muni for $41.50 on a weekday...way overpriced
Nice Municiple course
North Fulton is always a nice course to get out and play with friends. It may not be Augusta National, but there are some challenging shots and lots of good looking views from the tee boxes of the surrounding Atlanta skyline.
Why book at Tee Time when you don't tee off for another hour!
I haven't played here in quite a long time and now I remember why! Even though we booked a tee time in advance, we still didn't get out for another hour. Also, we tried to pay our greens fees several times and they told us we couldn't b/c they don't know how to take a payment in advance. They made us wait to pay till 5 minutes before our tee time, now rushing us. Thru all the chaos, I first drive was good, right off the fairway on the right hand side. I asked the ranger if he saw my ball and he said he didn't even know I hit one...it was right next to him!!! This place is aweful!!!
Best in town Atlanta public course
Fairways are I'm rough shape but the greens have held up well. There are a few challenging holes but overall a manageable course for higher handicap players. Main negative is the pace of play is consistently slow on weekends due to volume and being a short layout.
Convenient location
Greens in good condition fairways are ok. Because of the convenience of the location makes for a nice play.
North Fulton Madhouse
Packed course with everyone in Buckhead ready to play golf. Pace of play was incredibly slow. Which I later heard is regularly the case here. Very convenient location inside the perimeter and better experience than Bobby Jones. However I stopped after 16 holes because I had been out there so long already.
This course was short but challenging
Very busy course, rangers were friendly and kept everyone moving. The greens were very firm and challenging.
Overbook and slow
The Course was 30 min behind schedule when we arrived for a 2pm tee time and it was this way til the very end. Course conditions poor.
Very Slow Play
The course conditions were not that great but that is to be expected this time of year. The only complaint about the conditions were the greens were in terrible shape. I was surprised that some of the greens were not closed. We were however happy to just be able to get out and play. The major draw back was the very slow play. We were on the course for over 3 hours and completed only 11 holes. We inquired about a raincheck and we were informed that they do not offer rain checks for slow play.
who got next
don't lose your phone or jacket because you will need them both. it still won't be enough . if you land it above the hole seek immediate medical attention.
Hazy Shade of Winter
It's a cloudy day in November, the tee boxes and greens have been spray painted an odd shade of green, and i'm not at work - all is right in the world. While there were spots along the course that had retained a bit too much water from the previous day's rain, its late fall in Atlanta and I wouldn't expect any better at public course. The greens are a little harder than you think, but overall the course was fun to play.
Solid public course, with some tricky greens
Course was in solid shape, but the greens were super quick for a public course (likely due to the winter months).
The course was okay.
The day was very nice, course conditions were okay, greens lightning fast. Picked up two very nice men to join our twosome.
Course great but cost me 25% more with GolfNow
I booked a two-some for 18 holes through GolfNow. We were told at the course that since we booked through GolfNow, we couldn't take advantage or the City Resident or Senior discounts, which together amounted to a loss of a 25% discount. Don't think GolfNow is worth it. Disappointed.
Review
The greens need major attention. Fairways are not maintained properly
Great Value!
I play this course almost every week because of how much fun it is to play. It's a different course every time you come out.
North Fulton GC is a gem in the (very) rough.
I've played this course for years, it's in my neighborhood. It has a great layout, but is your "typical" non-maximized municipal course. It could be another "Bethpage Black," if someone were to actually pay attention to this course and optimize it's attributes. (I don't hold out a lot of hope.)
Considering the pressure on this County golf course, it was a great day of golf
I have playerd here dozens of times. The course has a great deal of pressure on it from all the use it endures. We expected and were told a four and one half to five hour round. In fact it was 3 and one half hours. And the course wa packed tight. Greens werre in excellenet condition and tee boxes were in reasonable condition for this late in season. The Youngsters at the front, checking us in ,were fast, efficeint and very personable. Starter was a peach. Pun intended. She kept the day moving. After three upper end subrban courses the prior three outings the price break and less challenging play was welcomed . North Fulton can be counted on for what it is. Enjoy
Great venue to wind down
Course in mint condition, staff very friendly (thanks for returning my phone), too bad the course was a bit crowded on a Friday afternoon which made play very slow. Will need to try it again!
