Chastain Park Golf Course

When you take payment for 18 holes - don't call for carts to be returned when there is still daylight. I did not get to complete my round - teed off at 1:03

We have played this course for over 25 years. We know what to expect. It’s a muni course, that’s fun for group of friends who are just trying to enjoy time together over a round of golf. Great layout and decent conditions. Pace of play slow as usual. No big deal. It’s the guy running the pro shop who is a jerk. Scolded us for not returning carts at 5:15; sunset is at 5:50. The ranger told us the carts need to be in at 5:30 and that was our plan. Absolutely mean and jerk. Forced us to take our bags off carts on hole 7. It’s his attitude every time. If you are not happy to work there, please look for another job. Let people who come to the golf course enjoy themselves, and you can be happy somewhere else else. Win win.

Also, no one ever picks up the phone to make reservations. So you are forced to pay golfnow reservation fee when making a tee time.

First time playing this course in 15 years. Greens are in terrible shape, pools of water in various spots made finding my ball difficult at times, tee boxes were beat up and unlevel, and no bathrooms. It was a beautiful day though.

The course is great except for lacking of maintenance in some areas especially in the tee boxes

I’ve played a lot of golf in and around Atlanta for a long time. You cannot beat Chastain for its value. Yeah it’s not in the best shape in general but it’s in amazing shape to be regularly less than $40. I was shocked that it had solid growing grass everywhere. Tee boxes are in the worst shape out of everything. Pace of play sucks bc it doesn’t seem like they care to spread the tee times or anything. I still think you can’t beat it for the price.

Great layout, and for the price you truly cant beat it.

This course is beautiful except is poorly managed. Lack of maintenance and ammenities is notable. They spent a ton a money in a horrible eyesore hitting cages in lieu of directing that to tee boxes an fairways

I remember when this course used to be one of the best in the area. Absolute disgrace with what's happened to it.

Absolute horrible conditions, staff that can careless about their customers, pro shop has zero amenities, nothing to drink, not even water bottles for purchase, the last three times I have played, no one was even in the pro shop, you have to look for employees. Try calling to get a tee time - good luck. No one ever picks up or you get a voicemail that the voicemail box is full. I have seen people walk up straight from their car onto the course. People walking around the course like it was a park, on hole 9 faiway (to the right) a couple with a picnic tarp and chilling out, and another couple walked right across hole 10 as we were about to tee off.

Just a disgrace what's happened to this course.

Course under major rehab. No warning when I booked tee time. Very deceptive. Many holes on back nine moved tee boxes out to 120yds. Waste of money and time!

The course has some fairways that are being resodded so expect some ground under repair holes while playing. Clubhouse is also being updated. Greens are still in pretty good shape.
