Emerald Lakes was a victim of a flood in 2016 but quickly recovered and was in great shape for 2017 Photo submitted by u000003849698 on 03/29/2018
Some good, Some bad, Some Ugly
It was my first time here. The greens all had the same color flags so you couldn't judge whether or not they were front, middle, or black. For a first-time playing there it left me with some poor placements. This course also provides for foot-golf so you see those flags up and down sometimes. The High-Power lines do get you sometimes too as they sprawl across several fairways. It is located next to a major freeway (downwind) so you smell exhaust from the truckers and hear a lot of freeway traffic...

Quick 9
Stopped off the 99 before heading back to Fresno. Great little course that has challenging green complexes with alot of slope. Water comes into play on most holes. Course is in very good conditions and greens run true. Great test of your game in under 2 hours. Highly recommend to anyone on a tight schedule wanting to get some golf in. Staff is friendly and the Marshall/pro offered some tips on how to play the hole I was on.

Good day out
First time out after shoulder surgery. I started on time, playing alone and was able to stay ahead of the people behind who used golf carts. I walked. The woman in the pro shop was very nice. She was the only person I interacted with on the day. The greens were excellent, the fairways, bunkers and tee boxes were all in good shape. It has been at least 15 years since I played here last time and I was pleasantly surprised at how well the greens were. The par threes included both long and short yardages and the long ones were a good test at 180 and 203 yards. It was a good opportunity to work on rehabbing my game.

Best conditions
The golf course superintendent has done an awesome job with EL GC. The conditions are better than many of the country clubs in the area.
The course is plenty challenging for all levels of play and you can usually get 9 in under 90 minutes (walking). Plus the green fees are very reasonable.
If you haven’t played here or haven’t played here in a while, do your self a favor and book a tee time. You won’t be disappointed.

Very nice nine hole course
There are several things I really like about this course. In no particular order, you can play 9 holes in around 2 hours, there is a nice driving range and two practice greens (one is for chipping), a nice mix of holes, several with water, the course is in excellent shape, the personnel are great and the other players have always been friendly. On the down side they used to have hot dogs and chips, but since COVID-19 I haven't seen any food.

Frequent Flyer
Best driving range with overhang, new mats, new balls, and fair rates, fair greens fees, and very well kept course for a 9 hole facility. Therte is 1 par 5 that they should do a bit more with, but overall one of the best values around. Does need a marshall to keep the walkers from slowing down everyone else, and to point out pace-of-play etiquette for the hackers and folks who think they're "pros", waiting to tee off forever, measuring putts for minutes on end. Nice place to play all considered tho.

Greens are tremendous.
This course is alway in great shape. The greens are one of the best conditioned greens in all of Sacramento area. Challenging hole locations. Easy course to walk. Not a lot of length with easy to reach greens in regulation on par 4s but the par 3s are tough. It can get busy and slow at times so take your time with your shots.
