Has Potential to Be A Great Course
This course has a fun, challenging layout, but it needs some serious work. Appears as though the course has been overwatered. The greens were soaked to the point that low running chips from the fringe left pitch marks. Areas around the greens were so soggy that any approach shot that just missed the green plugged in the fringe. Many of the greens had dead spots with no grass. Fairways were dead in areas. The best thing I can say is that the bunkers had adequate sand. With the right superintendent this could be a great course.
Tighten Up
Fun Course, always Challenging but the course could Def be in better shape than it is. The Driving range is probably the worst in the Area. There are ground under repair on a few Greens while putting. Cheap price so that’s always good but the course could Def be in better shape than this, but doesn’t look like management is interested in making changes as long as people still play
Nice friendly golf coarse .
Great value for the money.
Some ground under repair but a good overall experience.
Great layout, not well maintained
Dry Creek is a great layout, but clearly ownership lacks ability to keep it maintained. Greens were slow and there were many wet areas throughout that came into play. But it is a fun, challenging course that just needs a little more TLC,
Don't do it
I'm not sure if the maintenance crew doesn't care or they are just under staffed. The condition of the course is almost unplayable. The tee boxes are infested with crab grass, the fairways are water logged especially around the greens and the worst part of the entire course are the greens and the over grown trees. There are so many holes where there's no way to hit a playable shot.
Dry dump
The tee boxes were dry needed a hammer to put a tee in the ground..The staff not friendly didn’t like hot deal people. Was very hard to find next hole no direction signs got all mixed up looking for next hole. If you miss fairway good luck finding your ball had trouble finding ball in the fairway. On the back nine par three some old lady was on the green watering it she moved while we shot to the green but left the hose on the green. 75% of greens were ill and needed repair.. also the greens were just punched wasn’t told at clubhouse before heading out. What a shame this was such a beautiful course back in the day. This course could be great again if someone put the time and money in it.......
Don’t waste your money
The course had to many yellow spots and the greens were just sanded so it was like putting on a beach. I played 7 holes and left.
The good & bad of Dry Creek ...
The good : Course was well- watered, fairways were in great shape. Lots of mature trees, great for shade, challenging on a few holes where they guard the greens, but that’s OK, Got a good price with the Golf Now discount. Bar area is old, but clean, convenient and fair priced,
The bad : Greens were in rough shape, many apparently damaged by the many geese that roam freely on the course. Some ball-washers were completely dry. Bunker edges were not trimmed, but sprayed with Round-Up, leaving a foot of dead grass rimming them, with the sand/dirt being hard-panned and almost unplayable on several holes. Carts worked ok, but needed a good cleaning. Holes 10, 11 & 17 border Highway 99 and are loud with traffic.
Bottom line is if you can get a good price, give it s try, but be aware of the gooc & bad points before you book it.
Beautiful course design and layout
Always enjoy playing this course. The greens were in very good condition. Staff was very friendly and
helpful.
Dry creek ranch
For a course that spent most of the winter under water, it is in very good shape. Some wet spots but overall very good condition.
Old school layouy
I’ve played dry creek several times. I like the course. The greens were rolling pretty good. 3 had the green soaked a bit much for the time of day. Bunkers could use some love. Pace of play was good. Round was 4:20.
Found me a Hidden Gem!
I live 45 minutes from Galt, have driven through it a million times and have always wanted to stop off and play this course that is bisected by Highway 99
Found a great deal on Golfnow ($19 at 1:20 on a Saturday) and headed up 99. Clubhous and pro shop are classic old school, throwbacks to a simpler time.
When we got to the first tee, a group two groups ahead of us was already a hole behind, so the guy in the shop was very nice and told us to just go off the back nine instead. We played in 3 and a half hours and a had a great day.
I basically spent my round fanaticizing what this course could be with $1 million. What a great, fun, tough, thought provoking layout. COnditions were a little scrappy around the greens and tees, but otherwise course was fine.
This scratch player will definitely be headed back to try this challenging public track again!
What adifference a month makes
Played earlier in the year was kind of wet. This time it had dried out much more enjoyable.Beautiful big trees throughout that sculpt the course perfectly.Greens held well could be rolled but all in all what a great day
