Golfer Reviews
Amazing and Beautiful!
Very beautiful 18 hole course. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful! Just a 10/10 place to play!
Decent Course, rough Greens
Around 9 am tee time and finished in 4 hrs 6 mins with a foursome. You will almost always be paired up if you don’t have a full foursome. Pace play went really well, we had a beginner and stayed right on pace with the foursome in front of us, never waited on them and always saw them. There is no cart service or quick access to any snacks near the turn, have go through the club house and takes time. The driving range doesn’t allow you to hit any club that goes over 200 yards so forget practicing your driver. No chipping green and a decent size putting green. They do have a sand area to hit from the driving range. Carts could use a club/ball cleaner but the ball cleaners were open on each hole. The worst part about this course is the very inconsistent greens. Some were ok but others were in bad shape and sand was showing through. Some of them were also water logged at noon and almost felt spongey, trying to judge speeds was fun… The rest of the course was in decent winter shape, (fairways, tee boxes, rough) Overall a pretty decent course for around $55 a person.
Beautiful weather and the scenery. Good pace of the play.
Friendly and courteous staff made up the stalled cart. Beautiful weather and the scenery were worth driving 65 miles one way and the winding roads leading to the course. The whole atmosphere reminded us of the Georgia golf courses when we enjoyed playing the mountain courses over 23 years ago. Fairways were not well maintained and there were some wet spots. Greens were quite erratic that some were fast and others were extremely slow. The marshal came around several times asking me if everything was okay. Our cart just stalled a few minutes after the marshal drove by. It only about 15 minutes to get the replacement cart when our cart stopped near the green. Since it started getting dark already when we completed our round in less than 4 hours, we didn’t have time to check out the fancy looking restaurant. Maybe we will do that when we come back during the Summer. Will definitely return for a round of golf when the weather starts warming.
Great course.
All the things you want in a course for a fair price. Can't wait to play again.
Excellent course, even better value
Fairways are well kept, layout is terrific. Course is challenging and beautiful location. Can't wait to play again.
Nice terrain but course not in great shape.
I like mountain courses but Alta Sierra is not one of my favorites. The fairways were patchy and many times not great lies. If greens fees were $25-30 it would be worth it, but not at regular rates. Won’t be playing there again.
Beautiful trees lined
Drainage isn't good, very wet fairways
Perfect layout but needs a little improvement to make it a championship course.
One of the best design courses I have played. Remind me those mountain courses in Georgia and Carolinas. They need to work on the maintenance of the fairways and some greens where there were some potholes and damaged greens. Scenery was beautiful with some deers and ducks. The ponds are positioned strategically to be connected with multiple holes. The pace was great even following the ladies tournament groups. Completed just inside of 4 hours for 3 of us. We will return here before the weather starts getting cold. Thanks GolfNow for your including this great course on your list.
