Great layout
Love wide fairways, friendl staff and well maintained tee boxes. If you're lucky you might even see Bambi!
Extremely Rude Staff
We showed up for afternoon tee time. It was a 95 degree day and you walk at this muni 9 hole course. It was going to be a hot one. As we were walking across parking lot an older woman with a cigarette yelled to me, “hope your girlfriend has another shirt”. I walked over to speak to her. I told her “this was my wife, not my girlfriend and her golf outfit has been worn at this course, DarkHorse, the Ridge, Black Oak, Alta Sierra, many course in Palm Springs, etc…” she blew smoke in my face and said we had to leave. I walked inside as I didn’t know if this trashy person represented the course. They would not honor a time for the following day so we went to a local store and bought a new outfit and returned 20 minutes later. I had the chance to speak with the GM of the facility. He was very professional and nice as well as apologized. I told him that his off-duty employee had no right to yell at us in front of a deck of strangers, trying to embarrass and shame us. She did not represent the club well. Honestly, just a wretched human being who has most likely made some very poor decisions in her life and now takes it out on others. We will most likely be back as the course itself is fun for some practice and it’s very inexpensive but will refuse to deal with the dirty blond woman with the cigarette hanging from her mouth…
Nevada County
Fun little course. Friendly staff and not to pricey.
9 not 18
I booked for 18 but golf now hides the number of holes you are playing. So no more golf now for me.
Fun, mature 9 holes
First time. Good walking course. Good greens. Nice staff.
Made a 12 noon tee time and was told we couldn’t play till after 1pm. Members day. Asked for a refund and was told that Golf now would issue it
challenging 9 holer
Im not a fan of 9 hole courses but this one is fun and in goof shape for a muni.
Convenience a plus!
Pros - affordable, well maintained fairways, decent greens and very convenient in the heart of Grass Valley.
Cons - can play s-l-o-w depending on time of day. Tee boxes are pretty chewed up, uneven. Layout very straight forward, no doglegs or water holes.
Play it if you must, Alta Sierra is a much better option for slightly more money.
Short, but fun and unique
Perfect course for old guys who hit it straight!
We enjoyed our round. Walking was not a problem.
Fun, convenient and in great condition
Super chill vibe, friendly golfers and brisk pace of play. Has something for all levels of player, short par 4s with small greens. Can’t beat it for the price and right in town!! As of this writing, greens and fairways are in very good condition- tee boxes are a bit torn up, not terrible but could use some love hear and there.
Don't seem to like Golf Now.
Made a 1200 pm Wednsday starting time with my Golf Pass.
After reading a review comment about lack of golf carts I called the day before to insure availability.
I was lectured by lady on the phone that we could not start at noon as Wed morning was members day and their shot gun start would not be complete until 1230 pm
They are not very welcoming.
13.00 is high for 1/2 cart rate for 9 holes. But the golf carts are high quality and new. Course condition for march at 2000 ft elev was as it should be expected.
Greens are challenging, fast and small believe the break you read its there.
EXPENSIVE & terrible condition and layout
I played this course because i got a great deal from Golf now, paying $10.. each for two players and a $5.00 booking fee. Then we got there... My mom needed a cart and convinced me to ride with her, so I left my walking cart at home. They charge:
$20.00 green fee & $13.00 per rider in a cart
* It cost $26.00 for a cart and I paid $25.00 to play. Without the Gold Now deal... The 9 hole round for two of us would have cost $66.00... That is CRAZY expensive for nine holes as it is, but then there is the course.
The course is in horrible condition, dry as can be in most places and then damp and thick grass in others... completely uncared for (do they mow the fairways?). The one positive thing I will say is the green are actually ok compared to the rest of the course.
DO NOT play here!
