BridgeMill Athletic Club
About
Bridgemill Athletic Club in Canton has a varied landscape that provides an interesting mix of holes ranging from flat and wide open to undulating and tree-lined. The layout isn't characterized by a specific feature but instead lets the lush, rolling terrain remain the focus. The well balanced golf course features numerous sand bunkers strategically placed throughout and water hazards also come into play on a few holes. The distinct 16th hole with its island green is known throughout Atlanta. This par 3 appears intimidating but it is more playable than it looks. Players of all skill levels stand a good shot at reaching the green. In addition to the golf course, Bridgemill Athletic Club offers a driving range and short game area as well as 25 tennis courts and a two-acre aquatic center.

Bad Joke...
Played Bridgemill for the first time on Sunday and needless to say I won't be back. The fairways were shredded, sand traps weren't raked and divots riddled the greens. The course was over booked with no less than 3 groups stacked at every tee box after the first couple of holes. It would have helped if they'd had anyone patrolling the course as the foursome in front of us averaged 3 balls apiece each time they teed off. We finally got tired of it and asked them if we could play through on 11.
We probably should have known when we arrived to the sounds of golf carts blaring music in the parking lot followed by the lack of a single available cart anywhere to be found. After paying, we had to flag someone down who informed us it wasn't his job, but he did eventually scrounge up a cart for us. Unfortunately no one bothered to ensure it was charged because it died on the 14th hole. We had to call the club house to send a new cart. The kid that brought it to us laughed as he shared that ours was the 12th cart to die on the day like we'd won some kind of prize!
Their "signature" 16th island green was a major disappointment and looked nothing like the photos on their website. When you come up to the tee box on 16, the first thing you notice is the massive apartment complex, shopping center, power lines and the sounds of a very busy road behind the green followed by the smell of fried food of some kind. For added effect, we were greeted by a lady from the apartments who was walking her dog along the cart path behind the green while leaving us little surprises for good measure.
Despite the major let down of the 16th, their were some beautiful holes on the back 9. Sadly they were too often ruined by comical events like a kid driving a motorized scooter up and down the cart path and giving us a dirty look because we didn't move our cart out of HIS way! Later, one of the home owners popped out of the trees about 100 yards in front of a tee box, barely missing getting hit with a tee shot. He was apparently hunting golf balls in the trees behind his house and "didn't know any one was on the golf course."
The bottom line is the course is very poorly managed, employs too many kids who just don't seem to care or know any better and does nothing to enforce pace of play much less other aspects of golf etiquette. The highlight of the day ended up being that we got paired up with a couple of guys on the front 9 (without any warning when we checked in) who ended up making the first half of the course at least tolerable, but even they called it a day after 9...wish we would have followed their lead!

Beautiful course
Drove from Douglasville to play this course and it was worth the drive. Great staff, Beautiful course, greens were a bit fast but were very playable. Can't wait to go back.
I love this course.
Our foursome plays all the courses North of Atlanta and this is my favorite. Its got a wonderful practice area with a putting, chipping & putting and a sand trap green, as well as, a decent driving range with grass tees. The course itself like most courses in this area has elevation changes with all but 2 holes ( uphill holes 3 and 14) having clear view of your approach shot. To me this course is right there in front of you with nice Bent Grass greens that provide much more bite than other local courses with Champion Bermuda greens.
Very fun course
Loved loved loved these greens. They were even sanded on the day I played and rolled pure. Very fair and fun course. Will definitely go back.
Awesome!
We played in an on off thunder/sun day. They had over sanded greens but didn't effect play. Course in great shape, really fun and challenging. Will play again soon!
Lots of different looks
Challenging but not tricked-up. As with most courses north of Atlanta, lots of elevation changes, but nothing extreme. Good, consistent bunkers. The usual upscale, residential development - type course winding back and forth through subdivisions and crossing streets multiple times, but the houses never seemed to actually encroach on the course. The greens were in very good shape considering all the rain. Play from your proper tee boxes and, with one exception, driver never gets taken out of your hands unnecessarily - although there are several holes where your decision off the tee would be info influenced by what you would want to hit for your next shot. Overall a very enjoyable course for people who can keep the ball in play.
Perfect
A friend and I played Bridgemill for the first time, we were thoroughly impressed. Greens were amazing. Course is challenging but rewards good shots. The course would be easier after you've played it once...decent number of blind shots. Fun layout, beautiful homes (esp back 9), overall a great course.
Awesome course!
The Bridgemill course is in pristine condition. The facilities and staff are great. I would highly recommend it, one of my favorites in the Atlanta area.
Very Nice Course
This was my first time playing this course and I really enjoyed it. The course is in great shape. I will be playing here again.
Course in great shape, very good value.
Staff very friendkly and helpfulf.
Feels like you are at a private club.
Absolutely ... GREAT !
BridgeMill GC is a spectacular test of golf. From the layout and condition, it is truly a gem of an experience. ONLY drawback.... our group went off off around 4pm on a Thursday and there was NO cart girl at all. We made a very quick stop at the turn and when going into their restaurant for a quick sandwich, it took forever !! This needs to improve.
Great Facility
Well maintained and great value. Will play again when in Atlanta.
Very playable course. Enjoyed the challenge!
Nice Layout. Good condition with very nice bent grass greens. Course has a little of everything. Short holes, long holes, dogleg left and right. Even has a driveable par 4. Fun play!
Great course, nice design, well-maintained
Great course, nice design, well-maintained, friendly, professional staff
One of the best in the area
You never have to worry about the conditions so you can concentrate on your game. Played the Member tees (circled holes on scorecard) which gives a nice mix of challenging tee shots. First three holes are great warm-up holes. Not too long but you need to be accurate. Do not need driver on these holes if you hit it long. First par 5 is #4 and is up hill with big landing area so grip and rip now that you are warmed up. If right of center off tee, you will have blind second shot plus it's a slight dogleg to the right. Now you are ready for your first par 3, downhill but do not go left. This course has nice layout with mostly even tee boxes, pristine fairways, and receptive greens. One of the best courses in the area and one of the best values too.
Course in good shape. Interesting to play.
Moderately challenging -- good mixture of open and tight fairways, some water, and undulating greens. Course in very good condition. Enjoyed the round.
Very good enjoyable course.
This is well designed enjoyable course.
Wide open fairways, up and down hills,par3 island green etc.
Only one negative thing was sandy green, but this is just temporally to improve the better green shape.
Great course design in great shape now
I had kind of forgotten how much I like this course. One piece of advice - you don't need to hit driver on quite a few of the par 4s. If the hole doesn't fit your eye, don't hesitate to drop down to a fairway wood or rescue. Being in the fairway is paramount.
Good course
Course was in good shape, greens were probably best I've played this year. We were disappointed to learn they will be plugging the greens next week. The practice area needs major work-weeds were visible all over the driving area. Putting greens were just as nice as course greens.
Course in great shape.
The course was in great shape. Greens were in good condition bordering on great. They were fast greens. Tee boxes from the tips were in great condition.
