BridgeMill Athletic Club
About
Bridgemill Athletic Club in Canton has a varied landscape that provides an interesting mix of holes ranging from flat and wide open to undulating and tree-lined. The layout isn't characterized by a specific feature but instead lets the lush, rolling terrain remain the focus. The well balanced golf course features numerous sand bunkers strategically placed throughout and water hazards also come into play on a few holes. The distinct 16th hole with its island green is known throughout Atlanta. This par 3 appears intimidating but it is more playable than it looks. Players of all skill levels stand a good shot at reaching the green. In addition to the golf course, Bridgemill Athletic Club offers a driving range and short game area as well as 25 tennis courts and a two-acre aquatic center.

A Game!!
A very fun and challenging course. Bring your A game!!!
Bridgemill good, but issues
I like the course at Bridgemill very much and consider it a fun track . It is not overly difficult for the high handicap player and fun for the low handicapper. It is not a course where you automatically take driver out every hole and even when you do, you have to pick the right line so course knowledge is very important. However, i do have TWO very specific complaints here. One, while I was notified that they had done aeration the weekend before, the rates did not reflect any kind of discounted fee, which is was surprised by. The second was the pin placement was very spotty. It angered me greatly on several holes to hit to pin placement #5 on blind approaches up hills only to find that the pin was nowhere near the predicted place, causing me to 3 putt from bad places. The started told us the pin placement and then from there it was just inconsistent. Very frustrating.
Golf Now Rate
Please pay attention to how much they charge you in the pro shop. We had a rate of $52 with tax from the Golfnow website but they tried to charge us their standard rate of $64.
One of the people in our foursome already paid before I showed the email confirmation so he was stuck with the higher rate. Two of us checked in at the same time and we got the discounted rate. But, our 4th player paid after the three of us and they still charged him the full amount even after I showed them the email confirmation.
GOOD
BOOKED THE TEE TIME ON GOLFNOW....BOOKING PAGE DID NOT INDICATE THE GREENS HAD BEEN AIREATED UNTIL AFTER THE BOOKING HAS BEEN PLACED.....
IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOTED ON THE PAGE PRIOR TO THE BOOKING.......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love this layout!
The course was recently airated and the price we got reflected that...That being said we will be back to enjoy it in a few weeks. I really liked it!!
I enjoy Bridgemill
Love the course. Greens almost healed. great track.
love this course
I always enjoy playing this course. The staff is friendly, the layout is challenging and the course is always in great condition. On top of all that we were able to play in just over 3 1/2 hours. It doesn't get much better than that.
Beautiful course with variety of challenging holes
The course and staff were great. Nice practice facilities too. I enjoyed our outing. The only drawback was the twosome we were behind that was more interested in drinking beer rather than playing golf. Early in the round this wasn't a problem but by the middle of the back 9 the beer was taking its toll and they spent more time staggering around trying to hit the golf ball. On the signature 16th hole they weren't happy with their shots and decided to rip the windshield off of the golf cart?... Although this wasn't the fault of the course or staff, it did impact our experience. However, I would still go back since the course is beautiful with bent grass greens and a friendly staff.
Greens punched, sand poor
Not much to say, drive 45 minutes and greens punched and sanded. Quit after second hole total waste of time.
Just nice !!!
This was our 1st visit - Loved our experience we will be back !
Great course to play
This course is similar to a high end resort right in Canton, Ga! If you are looking to impress someone like a customer or friend thus would be the place to play. The clubhouse has real good food also!
Pace of play destroyed what shoulda been nice experience.
I will only comment on the pace of play. It was horrid. worst ever, actually. There was a fivesome on the par 3 island green, while a foursome waited on the lady's tees, a foursome on the white tees and me on the blue tees. That's how it went for most of my Wednesday.
Very nice course, average price
One of my favorite courses in the area, with a beautiful island green par 3 16th. Highly reccomend this course if you have not played there before. Typically in above average condition and has some very nice holes.
Worth it
Any time you can book Bridge Mill for less than $50 do it! The fairways are in great shape and the greens were a little roughed up but it appear to be more from careless golfers than lack of maintenance.
Bad Joke...
Played Bridgemill for the first time on Sunday and needless to say I won't be back. The fairways were shredded, sand traps weren't raked and divots riddled the greens. The course was over booked with no less than 3 groups stacked at every tee box after the first couple of holes. It would have helped if they'd had anyone patrolling the course as the foursome in front of us averaged 3 balls apiece each time they teed off. We finally got tired of it and asked them if we could play through on 11.
We probably should have known when we arrived to the sounds of golf carts blaring music in the parking lot followed by the lack of a single available cart anywhere to be found. After paying, we had to flag someone down who informed us it wasn't his job, but he did eventually scrounge up a cart for us. Unfortunately no one bothered to ensure it was charged because it died on the 14th hole. We had to call the club house to send a new cart. The kid that brought it to us laughed as he shared that ours was the 12th cart to die on the day like we'd won some kind of prize!
Their "signature" 16th island green was a major disappointment and looked nothing like the photos on their website. When you come up to the tee box on 16, the first thing you notice is the massive apartment complex, shopping center, power lines and the sounds of a very busy road behind the green followed by the smell of fried food of some kind. For added effect, we were greeted by a lady from the apartments who was walking her dog along the cart path behind the green while leaving us little surprises for good measure.
Despite the major let down of the 16th, their were some beautiful holes on the back 9. Sadly they were too often ruined by comical events like a kid driving a motorized scooter up and down the cart path and giving us a dirty look because we didn't move our cart out of HIS way! Later, one of the home owners popped out of the trees about 100 yards in front of a tee box, barely missing getting hit with a tee shot. He was apparently hunting golf balls in the trees behind his house and "didn't know any one was on the golf course."
The bottom line is the course is very poorly managed, employs too many kids who just don't seem to care or know any better and does nothing to enforce pace of play much less other aspects of golf etiquette. The highlight of the day ended up being that we got paired up with a couple of guys on the front 9 (without any warning when we checked in) who ended up making the first half of the course at least tolerable, but even they called it a day after 9...wish we would have followed their lead!

Beautiful course
Drove from Douglasville to play this course and it was worth the drive. Great staff, Beautiful course, greens were a bit fast but were very playable. Can't wait to go back.
I love this course.
Our foursome plays all the courses North of Atlanta and this is my favorite. Its got a wonderful practice area with a putting, chipping & putting and a sand trap green, as well as, a decent driving range with grass tees. The course itself like most courses in this area has elevation changes with all but 2 holes ( uphill holes 3 and 14) having clear view of your approach shot. To me this course is right there in front of you with nice Bent Grass greens that provide much more bite than other local courses with Champion Bermuda greens.
Very fun course
Loved loved loved these greens. They were even sanded on the day I played and rolled pure. Very fair and fun course. Will definitely go back.
Awesome!
We played in an on off thunder/sun day. They had over sanded greens but didn't effect play. Course in great shape, really fun and challenging. Will play again soon!
Lots of different looks
Challenging but not tricked-up. As with most courses north of Atlanta, lots of elevation changes, but nothing extreme. Good, consistent bunkers. The usual upscale, residential development - type course winding back and forth through subdivisions and crossing streets multiple times, but the houses never seemed to actually encroach on the course. The greens were in very good shape considering all the rain. Play from your proper tee boxes and, with one exception, driver never gets taken out of your hands unnecessarily - although there are several holes where your decision off the tee would be info influenced by what you would want to hit for your next shot. Overall a very enjoyable course for people who can keep the ball in play.
