Indian Palms Golf & Country Club - Indian/Mountain
About
This course dates back to the 1940s and carries a powerful history. Dwight Eisenhower and John Kennedy played many a round at Indian Palms, back when it was called Cochran Ranch. Eisenhower loved the place so much, he wrote his memoirs at the ranch.
The Indian nine is the longest, with the most straight-forward holes.
The Mountain nine is probably the toughest of the three, with plenty of hills out on the course and plenty of slope on the greens. The Mountain nine also boasts a rare par-4 island green

Indian Palms Golf Resort
Entrance to the facility takes far too long (19 minutes in a line), course has been worked on but conditions are extremely poor. Fairways, tee boxes, greens receive the minimum for daily care and maintenance. Fairways and Tee boxes are not attended to one cut daily and perhaps once a week at best. Staff shortages are evident, but the staff there are very friendly and trying their best. Pace of play at close to 5 hours is horrendous and unacceptable for a course like this. Surrounding land and many of the properties are unkept and an eyesore for the golfer. Overall experience was poor and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone at this stage. Our foursome was very disappointed in the experience.
This course is pathetic.
I have never played a course in such terrible condition. The green fees should be $20 not $75.
Don't go there it's a cow pasture.
Golf day ok
Ok day on the course . You get what you pay for. Not an elite facility. Conditions average, greens not receptive , very hard . Contouring of course leads to good shots running into bad areas, that said, you need to be straight and avoid the water .
Skip It
Ugh. So frustrated at this place. Arrive and they have no carts avail. Starter was not overly friendly. Finally 2 carts are “ready” and off we go. I have never seen so many weeds on a tee box. There are dirt mounds from some animal all over the fairways. It was backed up on the 4th hole because a group ahead was waiting for pro shop to replace their cart because the battery died (on the 4th hole!). Three holes later one of our carts died. Greens were horrible. Trust me… the $60 price tag was not worth it. Quit after 9 holes
Poor shape
This was my first game of 2023 and playing with a high handicap friend, I can appreciate the openness of the course and it was good practice to just get out and swing. The course was rather boring in that way but ok. Half the greens good, the other half needed some help but mostly, the fairways and such seemed really run down. Yes there was some rain in past couple days but WAY TOO MUCH debris on fairways and several tee boxes just needing a cut. Grass too long, debris and an angle made it tough. I ran into a person who has stayed on the course for the past 12 years and he said when new owners took over three years ago, they just cut costs everywhere and let it go. I’m Canada east coast our season is short and golf often costs more but a course like this should cost about $50cdn as it was pretty much straight away every hole. Paying $75 USD was was overpayment for sure nice weather and good company saved the day. Had I been on my own I’d be pretty upset. Mow your lawns and clean up the debris and be proud of your work for gosh sakes
Needs some TLC
The Mountain Course is in terrible shape. Very little grass on fairways, also not cleaned up. Golf carts frequently run out of battery life during the rounds. This has happened to us a few times.
Do Not Play This Course
I have played here over the course of the last 10 years. I've always enjoyed the challenges it presented, but this year the course has really gone down hill. Fairways and rough are in terrible condition. It's a golf course that looks like it could close down any day. I would never suggest playing here to anyone. If you get a chance to play here, DON:T!! Go somewhere else.
Great Layout, Really Fast Greens
The course is played as a combination of two of the three 9 hole tracts. Runs through housing community, with relatively narrow fairways having caused me concerns for properties lining the fairways. Recent windy conditions were evident, as fairways and rough areas were littered with palm fronds from hole, to hole. Distances between green and the next tee box varied, and were generally long enough to preclude a good walking tract. Fun round enjoyed with other vacationers.
Stay Away from Indian Palms
ProShop manager was unreasonable and could not commit to give us our reserved tee time. No carts were available 45 after our scheduled tee time. We complained and left an hour after we’d arrived and did not play a single hole of golf.
EXTREMELY RUDE MANAGER!,!!
I “WOULD NOT” recommend this course to anyone!
In poor shape…although the staff looked to be hopeful for improvement
Dead Carts
3 carts died on us totally brutal. The guy that brought out the 3rd 1 said the owner is too cheap to replace them. Not fun at all, I'm done with this place until they replace carts.
Failure overall!
My husband and I booked a tee time at Indian Palms at 2:00. We were looking forward to a great day out on the fairways. Unfortunately we were greeted by the news that there were no carts available. The manager of the Proshop suggested that we walk the first nine holes and check back for a cart then. There was no mention of a discount for the lack of cart so we said we would go to the restaurant and check back. After half an hour they still had no cart for us! When I confronted Charlie I was told to” just keep talking”. The helper in the barns called out to him that there was an available cart but Charlie said,” no, I told you to plug it in.” The worker repeated that it was ready and again he was told to”plug it in”.
As we walked away we were approached by a gentleman from the surrounding community who told us that people have left the area because of Charlie and his outrageous behaviour. We won’t be back! You shouldn’t either!
There are many beautiful places to choose in the area. This place has a bad reputation and now we know why!
Thanks Charlie!! For nothing!
