Indian Palms Golf & Country Club - Indian/Mountain
About
This course dates back to the 1940s and carries a powerful history. Dwight Eisenhower and John Kennedy played many a round at Indian Palms, back when it was called Cochran Ranch. Eisenhower loved the place so much, he wrote his memoirs at the ranch.
The Indian nine is the longest, with the most straight-forward holes.
The Mountain nine is probably the toughest of the three, with plenty of hills out on the course and plenty of slope on the greens. The Mountain nine also boasts a rare par-4 island green

Golfer Reviews
Bad Condition , but
It’s unfortunate that this 27 hole layout is suffering. Over the past few years it’s has fallen into disrepair. It’s okay to play it and save a few bucks compared to a more established nicer course, but it needs help.
On the other hand, maybe if more people play there, then a sufficient revenue stream would help them out more.
Don’t book here!!
Greens were good, fairways so so, everything else was horrible. I’m surprised this course was even listed. A staff member confirmed that they purchased cheap batteries for the carts, 1/2 of the carts only lasted about 12 holes. We paid $20 higher booking through golf now then if we booked directly. 1.5” of grass on the tee boxes, course is narrower and short. Carts are super old, they need major investment before I return.
My Take
The 2 staff people I dealt with were please at. Even though the greens are cut different, the were fair and fast. The fairways and bunkers are above average. The tee boxes are terrible. Long grass and need to be mowed.
Indian Palms
We played the Royal and Indian courses. The Royal is well laid out and is in great shape. The Indian is not as nice, although the tee boxes and greens are good. Good value for the fee charged. Not too busy so we enjoyed our round at a relaxing pace.
I enjoy Indian Palms because it fits my eye. Even though the condition of the tees and fairways is so-so, the greens are fine. My only real complaint is the way the club sends off groups. Yesterday, my group was assigned Royal to Mountain. When we finished Royal and went to Mountain, there were two groups waiting ahead of us who were just starting. Our four round turned into a nearly five-hour round. The club must refrain from sending new groups off a particular nine until the earlier groups have started their back nine.
Indian Palms Golf Resort
Entrance to the facility takes far too long (19 minutes in a line), course has been worked on but conditions are extremely poor. Fairways, tee boxes, greens receive the minimum for daily care and maintenance. Fairways and Tee boxes are not attended to one cut daily and perhaps once a week at best. Staff shortages are evident, but the staff there are very friendly and trying their best. Pace of play at close to 5 hours is horrendous and unacceptable for a course like this. Surrounding land and many of the properties are unkept and an eyesore for the golfer. Overall experience was poor and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone at this stage. Our foursome was very disappointed in the experience.
Golf day ok
Ok day on the course . You get what you pay for. Not an elite facility. Conditions average, greens not receptive , very hard . Contouring of course leads to good shots running into bad areas, that said, you need to be straight and avoid the water .
