Indian Palms Golf & Country Club - Royal/Indian
About
This course dates back to the 1940s and carries a powerful history. Dwight Eisenhower and John Kennedy played many a round at Indian Palms, back when it was called Cochran Ranch. Eisenhower loved the place so much, he wrote his memoirs at the ranch.
You might become enraptured with Indian Palms' past. But the course itself has very much moved into the 21st century.
Each of the nines carries its own personality. The Indian nine is the longest, with the most straight-forward holes. The Royal nine features water on eight of its holes. (Yes, your break from water is one hole total).

Bad Couse Conditions
We were looking for a place to play. Most of the courses were closed for overseeding. We found this course and decided to play it, because we never played it before. We thought for $80 dollars it would be a halfway decent course. We were wrong!! The course was in horrible shape. The tee boxes looked like you were teeing up in the rough. The greens were either dead or had chunks of grass missing, if it was $25 dollars we would have thought "Yeah it looks like a 25-dollar Muni course" and that would be a stretch. The staff was really nice and friendly. However, we asked for a bucket of balls to warm up on the range, and we were given a plastic grocery bag with balls in it. I think the most annoying thing for us is how they charge $80 dollars for such a horrible course. We will never set foot in that place ever again.
Sad Shape
The course was not in good shape. Parts of it were in fall reconditioning shape with deep layers of cut grass. Lost 4 balls that were in fairway. As there are 27 holes, it would have been better to close 9 hole courses individually completely until it is playable instead of 3 or 4 really bad holes on each 9 hole course we played. It seemed like the resort as a whole was on a sad downhill slide.
Poor conditions; no amenities
Experienced very poor conditions here. The newly opened 9 didn’t seem to have any new seed on it. Also, some of the greens were actually gray with little actual grass growth on them. The restaurant was closed, so it was just by luck that we had brought some drinks with us. I love to golf, bu5 if someone had told me they booked a tee time here, I would have told them to cancel out!
STOP…. Do not play here.
Total waste of your time and your hard earned money. The course has continually been going downhill for years. This is the worst condition I have seen it in. The first 3 hole of the Indian course had work done on them to start reseeding. Management decided to stop overseeing Indian course and switch it up to the Royal Course.
Great Value
The course is great value for the money. Both of our cart just made it to the 18 hole! The tough is very rough. Some fairways and greens not great. Not sure if it's because of the overseeding program. I guess you get what you pay for!
Indian palms
Don't have expectations of a great experience here
This community seems nice not sure way the HOA would not make golf course a priority
Never going back
Worst course that I've ever played.
My wife and I decided to play this course even though I remember playing it once before and I wasn't very impressed with it. With all the courses being shut down for overseeding there wasn't too many options for golf. The course was in horrible condition. Some of the greens were so diseased that you were literally putting on dirt. No one was raking the sand, the rough around the greens must have just been cut because there was clumps of rotting grass everywhere around the greens. We only golfed 9 holes and decided to quit because it was so bad.
Don't waste your money
Poor management and worse ownership. It's cheap but even that's a waste of your money. The greens are burnt and filled with ant hills. You'll need to replace your golf cart at least 3 times since it will die on you. If you try to complain to the manager, good luck. He won't even bother coming out to say hello. If you talk to the residents this is pretty common and they say it's a tax shelter. Do yourself a favor and spend $10 more to golf anywhere else
Disappointed
If you are a serious golfer take a pass waste of time and money.
Should have read the reviews first
My first time using the golf now app to book a tee time, that part went very smooth. The course itself as other have mentioned needs a lot of help. Tons of brown spots, half the time in the middle of the fairway I was hitting it dirt. I several times moved my ball to a more grassy spot just because I wasn’t willing to destroy my clubs.
The tee boxes were over grown, the mulch the grass so there was thick cut grass in numerous places. My wife named this course Hungry Hungry Hippo because it kept eating my golf balls. The crappy thing was that they were all in play or just in the rough yet we still couldn’t find them because of overgrown grass.
All that being said, I still had a great time, any day golfing is better than a day working. I just wouldn’t pay to play here again. Luckily I didn’t have any issues with our golf cart like others had mentioned. I’d spend more money and go to a course that is kept in better shape.
Peprich
The place is unsettled. Some greens were almost perfect ,(#4 on Indian) but others pretty bad. Traps had no sand and the rough hid a lot of balls. Notalot of roll on the fairways so was a challenge. If you like challenges, this is it. Quality of care like a municipal course. It was still a round of golf. I love golf.
Ipcc
Golf courses in horrific condition dirt fairways and trimmed trees to drive carts through greens dirt and dead course is not watered it is not maintained long grass in fairways when there is grass terrible golf course
Yikes
Probably the most unkept course I’ve ever played. It needs a management company to take over
