No Two Holes Alike on this Fun Layout
Played this course as a twosome with a good friend of mine and we had a blast! What we both like about this course is the interesting design, in that no two holes look alike. Each hole brings you it's own challenging fun. There is one hole, number 12, which is deemed the third toughest test on the course, that in our opinion should be rated the #1 handicap hole. It is a severe dogleg left that is almost impossible to see from the tee box. Your approach to the green is up hill to a very narrow (from front to back) landing area, with a fairly severe right to left slope (if you are facing the green). Let me tell you, your short game will be drastically tested on this hole. Walk away with a bogey and consider yourself quite fortunate; if you are extra sharp and you manage to par it then that's a stroke gained. We both double bogeyed it. All of the other holes are only moderately challenging as they wind throughout the rolling hills and beautiful hardwood trees. With the dormant conditions that this time of year offers we did have to contend with some pretty tight lies, though the greens were in very good condition. It was a very enjoyable experience, and we can't wait to tackle it come this spring and summer!
Convenient Course in Covington Georgia
This a convient course 25 mile east of downtown ATL. Course was in great shape in late February even after a recent rainy period. Greens are slick. Fairways very well maintained. Target golf course and will play again.
Good course
This course was well maintained and in good condition. The staff was friendly and helpful. This has been the best course I have played off of Golf Now.
In great condition for the winter, had a fun round
This was my first time playing here. The staff was very friendly - one of the staff members even recognized I had never played here and walked out to the first tee to give me some yardage tips.
The greens were in excellent shape - rolled true and fairly quick. The fairways are mostly open with lots of landing area for your tee shots. I wouldn't call this a tough course to play - but fun nevertheless.
I had no problem with pace of play (I was playing by myself) as the course wasn't too crowded when I played. Just over 3 hours.
Overall it was a fun round and I will definitely be back.
Oaks review
Played Oaks for the first time on MLK day. I was the first to go off that morning, playing alone the pace was swift. The clubhouse and snack bar were nice, the staff was very friendly. The course wasn't super difficult with a slope of 118 from the whites. There was enough challenging holes to make for a fun round. The course conditions were very, very good. Greens perfect and rolled true. Fairways were pristine with no bare spots. I will definately play again.
Course in very good winter condition. Greens smoothand med/fast
Excellent value , fun course. Back nine is long for par 35 from
the blue tees but doable with good drives.
Best course in East Metro Atlanta
This is the best course (condition, staff, & greens) on the east side of Atlanta. A must play.
Great experience
Great location,,, great course,,,, with golf now a great affordable deal
The Oaks
Played 3 rounds there after visiting the Masters. Greens in excellent shape. Very friendly staff. Course is enjoyable, challenging, but doesn't beat you up
Awesome greens
Awesome greens and fairways. Pretty dry play even after a flood the night before. Carts were super clean and fast. And can't say enough about the staffs friendliness. Heading back tomorrow and many rounds after that.
Good local course for the money
We paid $30 for a good round of golf. Even though it had been raining prior to the day of play, the course was relatively dry and had drained well, which meant good roll in the fairways.
"The Oaks" was in great shape, especially for this time of year
Since we played on a cold, windy day, the course was clear,
making for a quick round. That also made play a bit more
challenging, in addition to the speed of the greens. "The Oaks" continues to be my favorite course in the area, despite the very fast greens this round.
One word - "Beautiful"
This Course has a standard for perfection and has been In perfect condition for years now! The fairways and greens are great!
Great greens
Fairways in good shape, greens fast and smooth, rough a little long
have played several tournamnets here great place
course is always in excellent shape. pace of play was great one of my favorite places to play.
Nice Track
I like the course because it is pretty wide open, but still offers some challenging play. The greens are going dormant, but in great shape and very fast. Greens are challenging. Almost impossible to two putt from some ball locations. You want to be below the hole. Course is well maintained and staff is very friendly. Marshals patrol the course to encourage faster play. Beverage and food cart on the course. Reasonably priced on Golfnow.. An excellent Friday, late fall golfing experience!
The Oaks
This course has always been one of my favorites. I would rate their greens as some of the best in Georgia. Short layout but the greens defend par. Be ready to putt on slick greens
Impressed!
This was my first time playing at The Oaks course. What a great time. The greens were in fabulous condition...(nearly flawless) and fairways were well manicured. I can't wait to go back
Nice Course to Play
As always, the greens are in great condition. Course is well maintained. Staff was nice.
