Great Layout!
This is a beautiful course that has stood the test of time. Super wet with all the rain this month, but well maintained And very enjoyable!
Great value
Decent course layout. My first go round here and it is off season, wet and windy. So it’s hard to judge what the course might normally be like. That said, I will! I only hit one bunker all day and it’s a good thing I didn’t hit any more. Zero actual sand in the trap just good old packed solid Georgia red clay. That sure makes it tough to get up and down when the club just skips off the ground. The greens were in really decent shape and had a good bit of diversity between them size and shape wise. No really difficult holes on this track, everything is scoreable with a couple good shots. 2 of the par 5’s are reachable in 2 even from the tips on a wet day with zero roll out. It was certainly a fun round and I will be back during the warm season to hopefully enjoy some really fast greens. PS. Please replace all the missing ball washers and put some water in the few that you do have put there!
A Classic still has it
Haven't played here in awhile. A very old school course, and for good reason. It was designed by THE Bobby Jones in 1933.
The course "eases you in". The first few holes are fairly easy. I actually backed up a tee from whites to blues. But it gets quite tough on the back 9 from the longer tees. The fairways get tighter. The sight lines tougher. Bigger doglegs. And more water.
These greens are as true as any I've played in Metro Atlanta. They were running quick, about 11+. The course was in very good shape despite a lot of recent rains. A few holes were cart path.
The staff was great. It was Super Bowl Sunday and I got out early so pace was fabulous, less than 3 hours. For the money hard to beat. I'll be back.
Moderate course in good condition for winter. Excellent company, great weather. Had a great round!
Good Course, Not So Good Management
Just getting around to writing this review as I don't usually write many, but thought it was necessary with the Masters coming up. First time playing the course because we were there from out of town for the Masters. They had a great deal for a round, so we bit. Decent course, not too hard, not too easy. In good condition. The reason I give it 3 stars is because of the course management, and particularly because of the marshal. He kept coming up to me, only me, in the group to ask me to speed up. Mind you, we were behind 2 foursomes (that we could see) who were also waiting most shots, and I actually shot an 86 that day. Which I don't think was too bad for a first time on a course. And I was the second best score in our group. So why did he pick me out of all the others? I have no idea, but he was an absolute jerk. (And I use that word because it's what I can use on this site.) He even asked me at one point if I was using rental clubs.. Yep. Real class act, that guy. Needless to say, he didn't make me want to ever come back and play the course again, much less recommend it to friends. So, if you play there, it's a decent course, have fun, and try to ignore the jack hole that is/was the marshal. He doesn't know what he's doing.
Great Day at the Oaks
Best greens I have played on this year and I have played about 65 times.
Course layout challenging but certainly fair.
Fairways in very good condition for November
Bunkers were well maintained and tee-boxes in great condition.
Would definitely recommend The Oaks Covington, Ga and wii play there again very soon.
You don’t want to miss this one.
Outstanding Greens
I had heard great things before trying the course for the first time. It did not disappoint. Greens are phenomenal. Tee boxes and fairways in surprisingly good condition for this time of year. Greens also surprisingly clean of leaves and pine straw, maintenance doing a good job blowing the course. The guy in the pro shop and the lady working the bar were awesome. Pace of play for the weekend was awesome. Will be hurrying back to play.
Fun Weekend Course
This course offers a pretty moderate challenge where ball placement and club choice is vital. This course has greens that rank high for golfers looking for more of a challenge on and around the greens. The Oaks is the course people would drive out of their way to play on certain weekends. I have found that finding par on this course can be a bit of a challenge, but its fun and will keep you wanting to come back.
Good day, good course, good fellowship
10 men from our church played & course was very accommodating with price, tee times, etc. Friendly staff. Course in good shape this time of year, greens fast but great shape. Suggest looking at #6 & #17 for adjusting yardage, big difference between white & gold, consider something in between. One of my favorite courses, but need a deal to feel good about price, +/- $25 for Senior golfers would be great. Recommend!
Great day at The Oaks
Best greens I have putted on this year. Not only we’re they true but rolled exceptionally well.
Absolutely had a fantastic day of golf and fellowship. Will be going back to the Oaks very soon. You don’t want to miss this one.
great day at the Oaks
The course is in fantastic shape. Greens are perfect. Pace of play was a little slow, but then it was a gorgeous fall afternoon. Would definitely recommend this course.
Outstanding
The greens are phenomenal. The staff is friendly and professional. If I lived closer I’d play every week.
Great pace of play for a Saturday. Greens are in excellent condition.
The complete package!
What a fun and well manicured course. Friendly staff and the chicken salad recommended by Jennifer was delicious. Our starter gave us some great tips and was very friendly. Played from the tips at 6600 yards but play was challenging with a lot of options off the tee and greens that rolled smooth with moderate to fast speeds. Tee boxes were flat and fairways very accommodating and manicured with roughs as Bermuda’s roughs should be, tough but fair. Will be back for sure!
