PaPa and Grandma with 3 grand children
We came over from Arizona and played with our young grandkids and had the time of our lives. They are so much fun to see them enjoying the game at such a young age and learning the proper rules of golf. Our daughter has them taking lessons and they seem to be getting better every time we come back to visit. This executive course is perfect for them plus it helps us work on our short game.
Good Course!
Some construction going on. Hole #1 not available due to the construction. There were a couple of muddy, fairways and another hole was under construction on the back 9. I believe that when all the improvements are in place, this will be a course to play over and over again.
Great Course
As of 12/20/14 the course is under facilities renovation. That is why my poor review of facilities. Howver, in 2 months when completed, it will round out the total golf experience as awesome. The amount of course upgrades over the last few years has made the course, in my opinion, the best executive course in San Diego. Great greens, 4 driving holes and course character too boot. You will enjoy this course.
nice course
good experience except for a par 3 on the back 9 that has no green. it has grass while they are repairing the green, which looks pretty good. don't know why it can't be used.
fun
Great course to walk, some holes are up hill to the box, but just enjoy the day outside, and fun
Saturday play
Had a really hard time finding this place due to current construction. Staff was extremely friendly and professional. LOVE them. Pace of play was good considering it was Saturday
Fun, Easy but Challenging Executive Course
What a fun course! There are four par fours and the rest are par 3s. A new clubhouse is being built and it really looks like it will be a great place to sit and relax after golfing. While we had a cart, it is easily walked. It was crowded due to being Veteran's Day and kids and adults were playing. Everyone was super friendly, and waiting was no problem. We finished in about 21/2 hours and that was with the waiting.
Great Exec getting Better
I've always enjoyed playing Lake San Marcos Exec, now called St. Mark Executive, but it's been getting even better under the new owner ship. They've invested in landscaping and maintenance and are constructing several new major improvements to the course. These include a brand new cart path which is completed and a new club house and cart facility which is under construction. This is a great place to polish your short game from both the value and the facilities.
Round went so fast.
Glad to see this par 3 in new ownership and they are spending some money on major improvements. Will come back for sure. Check out new club house, and restaurant/bar which is already under construction.
Greens recently plugged, but usually better than average condition.
Good fast paced course
Good greens. Great small course. I have played here a few times and the course has not dissappointed. No par 5's and a few par 4's.
Great course
Great course, nice greens, got stuck behind older slow playing two sum who should have let me play through and even picked up my ball and took it instead of leaving it.
Like Visiting a Good Friend with a Disease
Lake San is my favorite executive course in the county. The layout is the best and you can use almost all the clubs in your bag. I have been playing it for 26 years, and the course has always been in good shape and the greens top notch...until this weekend. Every green was diseased to some extent; some more than others. While I understand that the drought has made courses let their fairways get browner, the greens were generally in bad shape for the first time in over a quarter of a century. I told the starter. He said he would relay the message.
Short game
Nice and short course allows for alot of work on the short game. No need for driver or woods. Fin to play and will play again.
Great Environment
Love this course. Played the back 9 two times. Took my aging parents along with me and they loved the clean air, shady trees and watching me.
I have played once before with my wife, and we will be coming back often. Maybe even to play 18 very soon.
Outstanding Executive Golf Course
Since I am just a beginner, I like very much how inexpensive the fee is, plus how friendly the staff are each time I visit.
Nice Course for the Money
greens were soft, bunkers had real sand in them, fairways and surrounding area well vegetated and like a park even though houses are nearby,. Houses are not in play. No need to bring driver just irons are fine. Easy to walk with very short distances between holes. There is nice elevation changes so many shots were up or down hill. Course yardage might be off on some holes because I was long on a lot, Hole #1 has to be 15 yards shorter than the scorecard. My GPS device with 15,000 preprogrammed coursed did not work at this course.
Great small course
Nice green fairways and greens. I love that lace and will be back agin and again.
St Mark executive on the way up
great executive course to play really fast rate of play a great value
