PGA WEST Jack Nicklaus Tournament Course

Well manicured course that provides a good opportunity for the average player to score well.

The staff is extremely professional and it was a very relaxed atmosphere.

If you have to choose between the Stadium Course and the Nicklaus Course, play the Stadium. The Nicklaus is not in great shape considering the other courses in the area. The staff at the course almost seemed offended that we purchased our tee time via GolfNow.

There are very few memorable holes and the course is tired. Most important however is that they have the worst sand I have ever played, world wide. Its not even sand, it is clay with a surface crust and either air or mud under it. I know they will defend their sand but when a low handicapper leaves many sand shots in the bunker or skulls them repetitively to avoid the crust then there is a problem.

Great course , great shape and layout, not worth the asking price but well worth it at a discounted rate Of $80

Beautiful course in great shape. Greens were hard to hold and mostly elevated. If you got off either side of the fairway you found yourself in a deep valley. Stay on the fairway, hit for the front of the green and you can score on this course

The course is great. Not my play. Pick your tee correctly, and this course is not too difficult. That is a characteristic of a Nicklaus course. I recommend this course when you can find a good price.

This course was definately a challenge good for intermediate and advanced players. Pratice area could use a little work as most of the hitting areas had little to no grass which is a little disappointing due to the nature of this course. The biggest issue is there is no marshals to be found to get groups moving like the 4some infront of my group that were holding every other group up cause of there stupid side bets they had going on every hole. The pace of play ruined what should have been a good day. If you don't get an early tee time for a good rate skip this course and play one of the other gems in the desert.

Played with 3 others on March 15th. Start times were already behind by 10min which is no big deal. Course it self is fun and challenging with lots of risk and reward shots. Now here comes the bad. Pratice area is busy and chewed up so good luck finding a green patch of grass to hit your irons from. This course needs Marshall's out there incouraging groups to pick up the pace a 5 hour round is just not acceptable by anybody's standards, especially when the group infront of you is slow playing cause they have money on every freaking hole. There were points where there was a 3 hole gap between the group infront of us and the group infront of them. Marshall's were not to be found to get these Yahoo's moving. Truly ruined my experience with PGA West.

The bunkers on the front 9 had good sand, the bunkers on the bank 9 did not have enough sand to hit a traditional bunker shot.

We play this for the fourth yeqr and have enjoyed it every time. Good golf, good practice range, good restaurant and bar. In other words, bliss.

I have read reviews of this course and have to say I disagree with it being difficult for the average golfer. If you play the right tee’s it is a fair, yet challenging course.

The fairways were generous if you had an errant shot. The greens are all elevated; putting had a nice speed. The bunkers were great to hit out of.

I would play this course again.

Too many contrived architectural elements make this one of my less favourite courses in the valley. Although the course is in great shape, the design is overdone with too many artificial drop-offs and bunkers that don't seem at all natural.

Great course. Challenges from every tee box. Great staff. A fabulous experience from beginning to end.

Fantastic all around course. Well groomed. But tough. It certainly challenges your golf skills!
