Not bad for value
Green speed & condition was ok , fairway is not good , a lot of No green like bald head & divot,
But its ok for public , good value . Friendly staff

Not What It Used To Be
Played here several years ago and was impressed with the course layout, its fun, creative and I love the water holes. Specifically hole 16. But for whatever reason, the last 3 or 4 times, the care of the fairways has gone downhill, absolutely baron in certain areas. I love this course and will continue to come back and I hope they can reinvest in the fairways.

Fun course, but not in great shape
1st fairway has very little grass. There are some bad patches, but the course overall is good and fun.The layout is interesting, although it plays a bit short.

Fun round, nice layout
Played on a Monday... The pace was average for LA and the course is in decent shape. The layout is fun and diverse. Some fairways are dried out and brown. But for the price is was a fair value. The carts are old and have no gps but they drive fast. Overall a nice day.

After scrolling back to June of 2019, it became apparent that golfers have been complaining about the sand traps for a full year. To jump online and continue to ask people to reach out to the pro shop to let the team know is an empty attempt at customer service.
Everyone knows that the staff of every course plays the course, which means that they are blatantly ignoring the problem. That is simply unacceptable.
Btw this platform has a serious flaw in that I wasn't able to respond to the golf course staff so the only way for me to keep this conversation moving is by responding on my own comment.

Only play if index 20+
Play course if you’re a beginner and ok with 5.5 hr rounds. Great course for that. Otherwise, not worth the time. Greens in better condition than I thought they would be.

Fairways has some dry/bare spots and greens were bumpy but faster than normal. Playing from the blue versus whites changes the angles/layout and difficulty.
Many bunkers without sand
There are many bunkers in this track but no sand. It’s literally hitting out from cement. I scuffed up my sandwedge hitting from non sand banker. When will you fill them with sand.?????

Montebello CC what could have been
I cut my teeth on this track back in high school and I remember being very excited when the city dumped a ton of money into renovating it. Sadly they didn’t budget for upkeep (or did and somebody decided to pocket the cash) because the course went from a beautiful lush course to one where 2/3 of the bunkers don’t have any sand, 1/3 of the fairways are basically mud or grass of poor quality (not very fair), and the traffic sound on the perimeter holes leaves much to be desired. Course layout is fun and it’s not too challenging for newer golfers but it’s really gone downhill since the early 2000’s. Hope things get better before it’s too late.
