Early Fall Conditions
Course conditions are average at best. I’ve seen better conditions here in the past. Pace play was about 4 hours on a weekday morning.
Easy drive and good condition
The course has been maintained in a good condition, all 18 wholes are not difficult, best for beginners.

I finally had the chance to play a course I have driven by a hundred times. Nice layout, wide open tee boxes that were in decent shape 5+, half were chewed up and half were ok. The fairways were very wet (AM play) I'm sure to the recent heat wave. Several balls were plugged including drives. Almost every shot was lift, clean and replace. The fairways were a combo of grass and crab grass and the rough was thick. Almost alway grabbed the club head. Greens were very good, true and they are what you see. strong 7+ for greens. Not a bad course for the money.

Not what it once was
I've gone to this course for quite some time and I always remembered it was a very well kept course. It's still the same nice layout, greens were well kept, but the fairways have large bare spots on almost every hole.
The condition of the fairways make it an average course when it was once a great one

No sand
The course is not in bad sharp, but the sand traps are terrible! There's no sand in them. The sands traps are rock hard.
Good condition, fast paced
It’s amazing what happens when you limit groups to 4 or less and send them out 10 minutes apart, instead of 8 minutes apart. You get a round that was played in about 4 hours.
Driving range is bare-bones. I don’t think they have washed a range ball since the date of purchase.
Greens were in generally good shape, although some unrepaired ball marks existed. Fairways were mostly well grassed with only a few brown spots and dirt lies. Lots of fairway bunkers makes 2nd and 3rd shots challenging. A few holes with forced carries offered bailout points to the side.
All things considered, Montebello Country Club is a fun course to play and is in relatively good condition.
First time I quit playing at 4th hole because the slow pace of play
I love Montebello Golf Course but, I have noticed some changes lately. I haven’t t seen the golf marshals in the past two or three weeks. Last Monday I quit playing golf after playing 13 I started playing at hole 10 the pace of play was very slow. I waited 5 to 8 minutes at the tee box at every hole.

Crowded on Friday afternoon
Fun course, well maintained green for LA, nice price if you get a deal. The deals always draw a crowd but somehow the pace was clogged. The average skill level wasn’t bad but if I go back, i’ll make sure it’s early enough in the day to finish 18. I went solo, ended up joining the party of 2 ahead of me, and only got through 10 holes, with them starting us on the 10th tee.

Walkable course challenging water comes into play on 3 goles
Today play was medium pace wet fairway and muddy greens were decent .
