Monterey Park Golf Course

TEE BOXES SUCK!! The greens and fairways are in great shape. However this course has made one drastic mistake. They force you to tee off of the fake turf grass instead of a real tee box. Easy change they could make. Eventually should bring back golf carts too would speed up pace of play old people get tired and start walking slower and slow the game down very much for everyone else.

Instructor was in the groups ahead and was giving lessons and pace of play was soooooo slow

I rarely score a par on any nine holes on this golf course, but I keep coming here to golf again. Fun course for golfing.

Positives:

1. Greens are in excellent condition.

2. Fairways are lush without any dry spots.

3. Patio area is nice and shaded.

Negative:

1. You have to hit off a golf mat.

2. If you want to hit a wood/ driver you need to bring a rubber tees for golf mat.

The course itself is short, but holes #1 and #9 are nearly 300 yds. The rest are par 3s that are each unique with some challenges. I played at night and have to admit that the lighting is better than what I anticipated. If you have light up balls, they are seen much better than the regular balls, but switch them on the green.
