Woodhaven Country Club

So I gave this place a poor review in early July. I read some current reviews and they were positive. The superintendent really cleaned this place up in the last 5 or so weeks. Good job! Just goes to show that with some effort alot can be accomplished . There are probably 10 to 15 courses out here that should do the same you know who you are so get to work slouched.

Played here this morning. My wife and I let a twosome play through because it looked like they were going to push us. No one else ahead or behind the rest of the round. We finished in 3 hours. For late summer the course was in pretty good shape. Greens were fast and true. Only criticism is that the bunkers were like concrete. Otherwise an enjoyable round.

I played Woodhaven about 3 months back and they were experiencing the same greens problems many courses in the valley have had. Bare spots, fuzzy uneven surfaces for putting I played last weekend and WOW the greenkeeper has done some kind of job. The greens were perfect. Whatever he has done should be shared with other courses

Course was in great condition even with major work going on around the 17th hole. Staff was friendly, greens were great and we really enjoyed this course and will be back.

Like several of the under $50 "Country Clubs" I've played in the Palm Springs area, this course appears to be well beyond it's glory years. Fairways are the highlights with most being worthy of a 2 - 3 star rating. Most tee boxes were ok. The greens are AWEFUL. 1 star! They're 25% bare and the parts with grass are just barely ok. They had obviously just sprayed them with a green dye to make the bare spots and the sparse grass look better. However, it just made them look cheap and cheesy! They even had overspray going into the greenside bunkers making part of the sand look green. The layout is ok for an "old school country club". The 18th hole is supposed to be a par 5 but they are digging a huge new water (?) feature and shortened it to a par 3. The course workers were the MOST INCONSIDERATE I've ever encountered. On 2 consecutive holes I had as many as 3 mowers going around the green as I'm putting. Normally that would bother me if they paused, but they kept going and one even mowed around the greenside bunker and came within inches of the green while I'm trying to putt. I will not be going back!!!

Play this shorty all the time its a great tune up course. Lately this place is on the decline. Play elsewhere till they get their stuff together

Played this course on a weekend. The pace of play was awesome. I caught a group on the 3rd or 4th hole and they let me through on the following hole.

The course wasn't very long, and I felt like it caters more to the local residence, which are mostly retired. However, it was in good shape. Very few dead/bald spots and the greens rolled great.

The reason I wouldn't recommend this to a friend is that I think there are better deals available. It may be a bit of a drive, but I thought The S at Rancho Mirage was a much better value, and I really liked Cimmaron, which is a similar price.
