Always Great!!!!!
Played the Santa Rosa Course at Mountain Vista again yesterday in Palm Desert, and once again it did not disappoint. I’ve been playing here for well over a decade, and honestly, not one single time have I ever left disappointed.
The course was in fantastic condition from tee to green. Fairways were well maintained, bunkers were consistent, and the greens rolled true all day. You can tell the staff takes a lot of pride in keeping this place in top shape.
Always a great experience and one of the most consistently enjoyable courses in the desert.
SLOW PLAY and no course etiquette from locals.
This is the first time I played here. The course was nice and in decent shape. What is expected in this transition time of the year. Not sure if it’s posted but it would be nice to know that there are no beverage carts on the course as I might have planned better. But the hydration stations are a nice touch.
The pace of play was very slow. We played the hit and wait game all day. By T.C., to make matters worse, the group behind us kept hitting up on us all round. They were locals as they were driving their own golf carts.
If we were playing slow we would have gladly let them play through. But, when we are waiting to hit as well I found this to be very rude. After their approach shot almost hit us on 16 or 17 I finally yelled back at them.
Not only is this rude, but can be dangerous.
Decent course but not difficult
Second time playing the Santa Rosa course from the gold tees. Pretty wide open with few issues tee to green
I like the greens which roll true and they’re pretty well protected with bunkers
Our threesome was stuck behind a foresome and we waited on basically every shot. This course is in a Sun City development so I’m not surprised.
Drink cart only showed up on back 9 and it was pretty hot so could have used it earlier
Overall, pleasant to play and ok value for the money.
Summer enjoyment
The course is a fun track and the pace was good. Would have been nice to have a beverage cart make an occasional appearance.
Great condition
The course was in great condition. Greens are running fast and true. Staff was very friendly. Lots of bathrooms on course. Love the course layout.
Good stuff, slowpqce
No one to greet at bag drop to get clubs to cart. Insde staff was nice The course was in great shape and everything was really nice. The bunkers were a little really hard but fortunately only had to get out of one of them.,The pace of play. was really bad and we are waiting on the group in front of us for literally 90% of our shots. They had no idea what playing ready golf was once they got to the Green, and literally one time they were on the green for seven minutes. Saw the Marshall once and he was like “oh well”. Only Saw the cart for beverages two holes from the last hole. Even with all Of this I would Play again, very scenic and fun layout.
Immaculate
Excellent conditioning from tee to green. greens were hard and fast. Sand was on the hard side but fair. First time playing so we were challenged with blind shots that hid the water and sand on the back 9. The marshal was great, very helpful and he kept it moving so we finished at 4 hours. Green fees on the high side but, the Santa Rosa course is as well conditioned as the top courses in the area. Nice practice area. No one was wiping down our clubs with a wet towel expecting a tip at the end. Maybe I’m just cheap…
wind
have to check the wind before you book we had a club brutal wind trying to play
Amazing condition and fun track
Course was in excellent condition and is fairly open. There’s a few short fun holes that you can’t see the hazards from the tee but make great risk reward holes. My son and I are a 1 and 6 HC and played terrible but this course is not super challenging. The views are spectacular and greens roll true. Would definitely play here again. We got a really good rate for day of booking. They either didn’t have a lot of play or they spread the tee times out far enough that it felt like we had the course to ourselves. We caught up to someone on the 18th but never had to wait.
Rosa
Starting time was not communicated correctly which lead to a hurried start. Round was fun.
What a treat
Outstanding golf course, very forgiving but still challenging. It was in great shape, well taken care of.
Great facilities at the course
Open but need to think a little
Rough is green but not too long. Water comes in to play off tees on some holes requiring non-driver. Overall a pleasant experience.
Great course conditions and pace of play
Brought a friend for her first time for a 1 pm tee time at Santa Rosa. Upon check in found out they were doing a shotgun and I was the first of 2 groups on Hole 2. It worked out fine with our cart partners and soon there was no one in front or behind us! Finished before regulation. I forgot my water bottle and there were no cups at the club house like they normally have. After playing 8 holes, there were no cups at the turn. However, there was a course asst who offered to bring me a cup of ice water to the 10th hole. That was a lifesaver and saved me from going to the club house to buy bottled water.
Nice course
Nice course. Pace of play was a little slow but not terrible. We got finished around 4:30 and my wife wanted to buy a hat and pro shop was closed. No beverage service on course was also frustrating
Great day
Course was in wonderful condition and greens were a good speed. Overall a great course for the money!
