This one needs some help. Some warnings would have been nice,
The winter must have been really rough on this course because it was not like this years ago when I played it last..The fairways were mud and the greens were punched and not sanded. There were no less than 20 downed trees on the course. The driving range fence had partially fallen...Need I say more. The proshop and restaurant were well staffed and pleasant but the course is a mess. Lets not even talk about the goose poop or the quality of the ponds and water hazards. I only wished that I had known this prior to booking and prepaying for my round with Golf now. I was embarrassed to have invited a friend to join me. There has got to be a way for golf now to alert their customers prior to booking.. I now know to call the course of choice prior to booking. I wont get fooled again.
Course in good shape but greens very bumpy & slow
This is a relatively easy course only about 6200 yards from the back (blue) tees. For a public course it’s in pretty good condition and I like that the practice areas and the driving range are very close to the clubhouse and the first tee. A few trees were still down from the very wet winter, some dead grass in the fairways but starting to fill-in now that it’s spring. Didn’t realize they had punched the greens about a week earlier; not very many holes, but they were extremely bumpy and slow.
The greens were sandy
The course hasn't recovered from all the rain yet! The rough had not been cut in awhile. The greens had not recovered from being punched and there was a lot of sand still on the green.
Winter has destroyed this course
I understand what a tough winter it has been around these parts but this place is almost unplayable. I probably would have been more understanding except that there was no warning from anyone that they had punched and sanded the greens . For 65 bucks this was a joke .
Horrendous
I would give this course zero stars if possible. Fairways were awful and greens weren't much better. Stopped after 16 holes because we were already past 5 hours. Golf balls flying in from all sides on most holes. Should tell customers to bring a hard hat.
Cheapskate
Played after recent storms. The condition of the course was not good.
Could be better
I know we’ve had a lot of rain lately, all things considered the course was in moderate to poor conditions. The greens were not too bad, ball rolled ok but very slow and people please please repair your ball marks. The fairways are in rough shape, very muddy, standing water and little grass. The tee boxes were ok. Honestly golf carts were silly with cart path only it took longer for our group to walk back and forth from the cart to the ball than to just walk. The whole place needs a bit of TLC.
Should be temporarily closed
Conditions are so bad here they should close temporarily. All of the fairways are gone. It’s just dirt like the baseball infield. The fence fell over at the driving range and needs to be out back up. It’s a huge fence to fall down. Trees are fallen over everywhere and haven’t been dealt with. Even the bathrooms on the course are out of order. This should be like $10 until they fix it. Or just close it until they fix it.
Total disaster
At least 12-15 fallen trees all over the course. Dead fairway grass, but the rough was green. Driving range fence knocked down by winds and being supported by trees. Serious maintenance needs to be done before somebody gets injured. Oh by the way cart path only and it hasn’t rained in weeks. Stay away.
One and done
I was optimistic about trying this course after reading the bad reviews, thinking it had to be better since we have gotten so much rain and they should have had time to improve the course. But sadly, it was still in bad shape. Fairways were so dead and brown throughout the course and there were numerous downed trees. Sad. I enjoyed the course layout and the staff was very friendly. I would only go back if the fairways were completely redone.
Good conditions despite the heavy rain the day prior
Due to the heavy rain the day prior, you couldn't play out of bunkers -they had inches of standing water in them. There were some soggy patches in fairways. That's to be expected for CA winter time golfing. But, greens were in good shape. Nice course!
No drainage at all
Well I used to love playing Diamond Oaks but haven't played here in 8 years and my big major gripe is the drainage issue and it's very very poor. It didn't rain for 4 days and I kid you knot but every sand trap was full of water and lots of puddles everywhere. With all the money this course makes they should definitely put some of it to use and put in some irrigation. I'll come back and play it again but not until summer time.
Brown fairways
Cart path only with standing rain in bunkers and fairway grass dormer. Pin placement was difficult to one putt inside 3feet.
Great course
Great course fairways were a little yellow but played well. Greens in excellent shape
Slooooooow Pace
My wife and I have played here a few times in the last couple of years.. It seems like every time we play here, the group in front of us are so slow. They were either looking for their ball in the rough, or just taking their sweet time hitting. If they made contact, the ball would literally travel 20 yards away. The group in front of them was just as bad. I understand the need for beginner golfers to gain experience playing, but there were no marshals to keep the pace going. It took us 4 hours to play the front 9, when it should’ve only taken 2 hours.
