Don’t be in a hurry.

Check in was easy since I had prepaid for the foursome, but then I needed to provide a $5 deposit per cart for the cart keys which I had never experienced before. Nonetheless, what cash I had left after the deposit left me short on cash for even a small bucket of balls for the range which was more than I paid at other courses. Overall, the course is tight with adjacent fairways running parallel creating delays in play while waiting for other golfers to clear out as they attempted to get back to their fairway or green. Play was slow, it took three hours to golf the front nine and another two and half to finish the round. The Ball cleaners we typically dry and the few that had water didn’t have a towel to dry off the ball. For the most part the course was nice and challenging, but pace of play really made the round miserable.

Diamond Oaks is in pretty good shape for a city owned course

Don’t play Diamond Oaks very often but it was in pretty good shape when we played it recently. Pace of play was good; staff was friendly. In my opinion course is slightly more challenging than advertised; tree lined fairways and some hazards can come in to play if you don’t play well.

Very Windy Day

It was very windy, and you were lucky to get the distance you wanted by using 2 more clubs than usual... I putted great and was able to save par with a few good chip shots...

NO NOTIFICATION

Even after checking in at the course, we were not told that there was a 1st Tee tournament ahead of us. We caught up with them on the second fairway and waited on every shot for the rest of the front 9. This was the youngest group, so luckily they only played 9. On the 12th hole we caught up with the older kids and even though we had to wait a couple of times it was much better.

Slow on Father’s Day

The actual course and conditions were great, but the pace of play was so slow! This was most likely due to it being Father’s Day,. On the third tee, we were one hour into our round. My recommendation would be to stay away during Father’s Day.

Diamond plugs

I usually play this course without a problem this time I was unaware of the aeration. There was nothing on their site or on GolfNow when I booked. All courses including Diamond Oaks should be more forthcoming about when they aerate. Or charge less for non playable greens.

I agree with this post. Nowhere was there notification of aeration. We likely would’ve booked elsewhere had we known. And I certainly agree that green fees should be reduced especially when freshly aerated.

Would have been nice to know

Paid $52. and no notice that the greens were just aerated last week... I even called the pro-shop and they did not disclose. They use the large plugs and are skimpy on the sand so it was a mess!

I don't mind the aerations, and expect it in the spring, but at least have a notice about it before spending $50.
