About
Nestled in the southernmost foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, Callaway Gardens was created in 1952 to preserve the local environment, from the native wetlands to the abundant forests of mature trees. Golf at Callaway Gardens is a unique experience in that you'll be completely submerged in nature and surrounded by wildlife. The resort’s two golf courses, Lake View and Mountain View, are challenging enough for avid golfers but they are scenic and playable enough to appeal to players of all skill levels. The Lake View Course is the original layout. It offers a slightly more player-friendly round with wider fairways and generous greens. There are more water holes on this golf course, nine total, including five holes that are routed along Mountain Creek Lake. The signature par-3 10th hole features an intimidating island green.

Impressive Condition
I normally don't care to play in hot July, but weather was a little more mild, and price was right. I was impressed with the conditions of the greens & fairways, as we have had a lot of rain recently. What I remember as fast greens were more moderate, which I like. Everything seemed to be in top notch condition, and I enjoyed this round very much!
Bad course maintenance
I’m assuming we were the first tee time since the greens had not been cut. They were running ahead of us trying to cut, blow the greens. They failed! Half the greens were not blown off so we just picked up. They neglected to put the flags back up on three holes so we just aimed for the green and hunted the flags when we got up there. I don’t live far and have played several times in the past, I brought three friends with me and was totally embarrassed!
Sixsomes
two groups of six young men clogged up the course. I do not understand why this was allowed. This course has seen better days. An image of the bathroom behind the fourth green would ruin your dinner.
Final day of vacation at F.D. Roosevelt State Park
Quite a bit of rain the night before which slowed the greens. 11am tee time with no wait. Great day of golf with my 15 year old son who is taking interest in the game. Look forward to playing here again the next time we are in the area.
Lakeview 7.3.24
Tee boxes, fairways, and most traps are in good shape. is in great shape. Greens are still not quite up to Callaway gardens standard
Purse changed
Was scheduled to play lakeview but maintenance closed the course and had us play mountain view the tees and fairways were well maintened but the greens were not as nice as lakeview.
Should be better
The course is nice, tee boxes could use some attention. Coolers are throughout the course but with no water. Could and should be better for the price you pay?
