Good as always
Perfect greens, fairways dormant but like hitting off a soft carpet, all around great deal.
Not A Winter Course
Dried up fairways, over-plugged and fast greens...but was a quick round. Got a round in less than 3.5 hours on a Sat.
Arrowhead- you can do better
Arrowhead- come on man! You can do better. First, I should say I am not a picky person or any kind of golf snob. I will play in a goat field. I have to be pretty desperado to walk away without playing if I prepaid the round but that is exactly what happened here. I get it- Arrowhead for whatever reason is allowing public play but they have a real management issue. My group still did not have a cart 30 minutes after our scheduled tee time. Nobody in the pro shop let us know when a cart would be available and when I left no carts were in sight. Several groups were moved ahead of us because they were "walking"? Maybe members? I don't know. Again, I get it that you are walking the fine line of alienating your members while allowing public play but you have to manage the situation better. I'm not a professional course manager but I think they need more carts and they need to do a better job integrating the public play and the private play.
nice bathrooms and food services
this course has gone from private to public, however 50 carts for this change does not cut it. long waits for a cart and walkers are allowed to go ahead even though tee time is later than yours. fairways are dormant burmuda( brown) some greens were recently punched and not filled with sand. the large number of walkers increases the round time. i would recommend playing in the summer when the burmuda thrives. management at the course understands the problems but unfortunately doesn't have the pull improve the conditions. i could confirm that 50 more carts were ordered.
Would agree, owner has not done enough to bring the "Public" on to the course...Old members do not understand course will not last if tee times are not filled up and course kept full of players and that means Public players.
Not worth the money
Played this course over the summer and it was in good condition. Putting greens were decent, and everything was lush and green. Played it in early december, and it was an entirely different course. Fairways were hard and grass was dead. Putting greens were awful. The only things that were good were the tee boxes and the bunkers. Staff was not friendly, and the members are rude to non members. Would not recommend playing here until the spring or summer, even if it is cheap. Much rather pay more and get on a nicer course. Like I said, summer is great, but right now, don't bother.
Did you read my comment? I said its nice in the summer, but right now its not worth the money.
Dormant Bermuda not dead grass in fwys, greens are fast right now and tees are tight with rye I play here daily and I'm not sure we see the same things, it's the winter not summer, can't change nature
Need more carts
No carts were available at our Tee Time which created a huge delay in play. Five hour game due to slow pace. Arrowhead is usually a great course to play. I hope this review helps Improvement. I will play there again due Great staff and good service!
Ran out of Golf carts
Got to the course 20 min before my tee time. The course didn’t have enough golf carts so I waited for over 45 min past my tee time to start. The mixing of carts and walking players made the pace of play around 5 hours. I barely finished my round in the dark with a tee time of 11:58 AM. No discount was offered, which I think would have been in order. For the money, this course isn’t worth the time.
Cool course ruined by pace of play.
Very cool course design. Greens were hard and fast. Day was ruined by pace of play. Perhaps they just tried to cram too many people on the course, but we left after 13 and four and half hours in. Shame.
Fun Course!
Lovely tree lined fairways with great view of mountains. What a setting. Greens firm and fast.
Arrowhead C.C.
Awesome layout, I hope whatever management company that runs this property makes and effort to keep the property up and restore it to its old glory. Right now a little TLC would go a long way
Great course, but priced wrong.
Really enjoyed talking with the staff. The facilities were a level up from a “public” asa positive. The course was plenty long and the greens were tough (in a good way.) The greens rolled really true, and the fairways were plenty wide. The greens just weren’t healthy enough (lush/full/thick) and the course looked and felt below par for what it should be. For the money id rather play at Sierra Lakes. I’ll play here again in the future for sure because it was really fun & challenging, just a little on the pricey side for what you get.
Ps- the range balls are aweful. :(
Not Like Arrowhead
I have played here three times. The last two times were fun and inviting. We played on October 30th a Monday, I invited a friend that plays all over. Unfortunately I was embarrassed cause the grass throughout the course was long and thick other than the greens. We shook it off and stated the gardeners must be on vacation. I will tend to stay away from Mondays on this course in the future.
They overseeded green surrounds and tees, gotta wait for that stuff to grow very tall before mowing, and they aren't gardeners.
I know they overseeded tees and around greens, you have to let that stuff grow very tall first before the first mow to keep it lush for the winter, I'm sure it will be back to normal soon
A C C
The greens are pretty nice. This is not an 85 dollar course. Nothing dramatic to this course simply goes back and forth along the course. I would not pay more than 45 bucks to play this course ever. Don't even insult somebody posting 85 bucks to play here. Decent course but no where near 85 bucks though.
Prices are dropping Monday by quite a bit
Reminds me of Caddie Shack
On first impression, this formerly private-only course was well maintained, but right away the members we encountered made us aware we were on "their" course. But once we got out on the course we had a great time! Not too challenging but well manicured, nice greens, with a classic back-and-forth design. Later in the old-school club house, it was a scene straight out of the Caddie Shack movie. The waitress seemed to ignore us outsiders so we took our refreshment money elsewhere. Overall, I probably won't be going back soon, but wouldn't mind playing again with a group of friends.
Play this course!!
I had never been to the course before playing. Pulling up it is an old school country club. Tree lined fairways, not too long, looked like fun. Checking in was a bit disorganized with poor communication of when to tee off. In fact, I had to ask if I could play with a group teeing off... After that it was EXCELLENT!! The course allows you to use every club in the bag. Fairways are clean and inviting. Sand traps are big and groomed. There are trees strategically placed that you have to maneuver around. The course is a very long 6600 yards. It is protected by the AWESOME greens, and the sand makes you think. Pace of Play was dead on. I was in a four some that teed off at noon and we finished at 4:08. Play this course!!! It is a delight!
I agree, it used to be member owned; but now foreigners own it.
The owner needs to decide if this is a public course of not and enforce his decision. It is safe to say he will need every tee time he can get to keep course open (GOOD LUCK). The way it is running now only lays ground work for a loss of money and another Inland Empire course down the drain....So called members are too few to keep the place going.
