Fast greens
Course in fair shape. Greens in good condition but extremely fast n hard making it difficult to get approach shots to stop. Nice chip/bunker practice area.
Not worth playing
Course is not kept up well. The grass is dry. The greens are not cut nice. Their yardage markers are built into the ground. So you have to search for them. Unlike most courses that have yardage stakes, it’s much harder trying to find your yardage on this course. For $35 on a twilight round, you’d expect a decent course. $4 more might as well play Sierra lakes in Fontana. This course is just a tad better than Paradise Knolls. In fact, I’d ratger play paradise knolls. At least it’s cheaper. I have no idea how this course was ever a private course. Blows my mind that anyone would pay to be a member here.
Avoid playing here
First time at the course. Guy at front desk was friendly enough. Cart died on hole 12. Called twice, waited 1/2 hour, then walked in. Nobody was going to bring me another cart. Nobody willing to help. No offer to refund anything. No new cart provided. Full price = 12 holes? These guys aren’t interested in customer service. Terrible first impression, but I don’t think they care. Probably best to avoid this one.
"Hot Deal" makes it a great course for the price.
The "Hot Deal" price was $27 so this made Arrowhead Country Club a great "Hot Deal". Though not up to the standard of the clubs glory days, we found the course well groomed and enjoyable.
Good course.
Greens are really fast. Fairways are a bit dry compared to other courses but for the price, it’s still a great bargain. 90% of the tee boxes are in good shape. A few were a bit run down. Our golf cart died on the 4th hole, but we were brought another one quickly. Overall a nice course...,
Good Value
Yes the fairways are dormant with no over seed.....very little ruff and it looks bad, but lies are playable and greens are very good (you will not find bent grass greens on many public courses) course is fun to play and much easier then the current slope rating....found most shots required a half or full club more then yardage.....and driver off tees was short on a lot of the holes as there is some grade changes even if it looks flat....
Goodtimes
First time golfing this course but I liked the challenge the course offered to my round! Course is older but would definitely golf here again! It was a pleasant experience and the staff was great!
What a mess
Arrowhead CC used to be such a nice golf course, now the fairways are dead, the greens are painted and this course is doomed to close forever in the near future. DON’T play it, pay the extra money and go to Goose Creek or Sierra Lakes, both are in Country Club shape, unlike Arrowhead which would be Lucky to be used to raise Goats
Doug
Nice to be able to play such a course. Greens are great but fairways are quite bare. Summer should improve that.
Arrowhead Country Club Golf Course
Nice "old course" layout, greens are excellent, you gotta hit it straight on this course will recommend everyone to play this course at least once
Dormant
This course has such a great history. Today it is a shadow of its former glory. I had maybe 3 decent lies all day. The course is walk to walk dormant Bermuda. You've got about a 20% chance of your ball ending up in a decent lie. The other 80% is on dirt or very, very tight dormant Bermuda. The bunkers were inconsistent with some of the being just fine, others have sand only in the bottom, the rest have no sand. The only saving grace were the greens. The were in good shape and rolled true. Still some of the smallest, most undulating greens in the IE. Tough to hit (even from the rare good lie) and even tougher to putt. If you can look past the very yellow and tight fairways it's a pretty good price for a nice track. I'll definitely avoid it until spring or summer when the Bermuda returns or until they decide to overseed.
Pace Of play
A great round of golf without worrying about rushing your shots.
Poor condition overall.
Extremely slow pace. Very dry, very brown fairways. Grass on the tee boxes and very little around the greens. Greens slick and firm. Over-priced for what it offers. Probably won't return.
Desert dead
Entire course was dried out with the exception of the roughs. The golf cart died on the fifth hole
Great layout
Golf course needs water, fairways are scalped down to the dirt, greens are hard as concrete, they should be soft and receptive this time of year. I understand the grass in the fairways are dormant, no need to cut them that low to the dirt, your clubs bounce off the fairways when you hit a shot.
Interesting greens
Interesting course layout w/very fine bent-grass greens. New consistent sand in all traps!
