Once upon a Time…
This is an old Sam Snead track that used to be fun. Course was the poorest I have ever seen it. Tee boxes in poor shape. Fairways had a lot of bare spots. Golf carts were all in poor shape. All the greens were punched and sanded so this was not a hot deal at the hot deal price.
Fun Round
This course is a great walkable track. The team is reseeding a few of the tee boxes, so conditions will continue to become better for this mostly par 3 course.
Perfect your short game
Tough layout nestled in the canyon. If you can putt here you can putt anywhere
Worst Golf Course Ever
This course is a mess; no fairways … just dirt and mud
Course is obviously not cared for; junk and trash spread throughout the course - transition area front nine to back nine centers around a trashy maintenance area … extra bonus the one “bathroom” facility is a port-a-potty close to six; needed servicing about a month ago.
Staff is rude / unfriendly / unhelpful - exception - starter and Marshallese we’re great … everyone else not so much
Bottom line … go somewhere else or stay home
Challenging
Fun course in a secluded canyon.
Greens are in good shape considering mostly
shorter 3 pars and small. Roll Nice good speed pace. Be careful of slopes.
Dont get short sided above the hole.
I will play again.
Carts used to be included and are now $12 per person. Brought our round to over $50 per person which is not worth it for the course. Hole 5 had a turf mat for the tee box. Used to play here frequently and likely won’t come back after this round.
Poor signage and maintennance
I will never play there again. Fairways, (if that’s what they can be called) Horrible condition. Greens not too bad but need caring for. Weeds popping out. My cart looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a month. (Cigarette butts and generally dirty). Bridges and unmarked dirt cart paths are hard to follow. Generally…No direction of play. I was lined up at t 3 and hitting toward green 11. Thankfully, someone shouted, “wrong way”
Short & Fun but not well kept
Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and Sam Snead designed a beautiful little course here. I am sure they would be Disappointed with the condition it is in.
I have played Tecolote Canyon Golf Course many times and not posted a review. Here is the, Truth as I see it... This is a City Course that could be Much Better Maintained. EQUIPMENT and Knowledgeable Staff could easily be shared to Get This Course Back In Shape!
The course just needs some TLC. The layout is great but; The tee boxes need to be punched/leveling/seeds/water, The sprinkler system need serious attention as the fairways are dry/hard/patchy grass, The greens need someone to care about them too... punch them, give them water and fertilizer.
CONCLUSION: Share City Resources and Knowledge to get the right people and equipment to do what is necessary to get this Gem of a Golf Course back to the condition the designer's would be proud of!
Super narrow with Skilles greens.
First time playing here so I can’t say what’s normal and what is not. Every hole was very backed up when I played. Almost 2 groups waiting to tee at every hole which really made this a long day. Note to new players who haven’t played here before, don’t use good balls if you can’t hit straight lol. Course is very narrow and rarely opens up. Need to focus on hitting straight (as always) but you have potential to lose many balls here. Greens were super fast with lots of angles and hills. It was a fun little course minus the pace of play.
