I guess you have to make money somehow
I booked a tee time and tried to cancel it but golfnow wouldn’t let me. Since I’m relatively new to this app and golf I didn’t know what to do so I just didn’t show thinking since there was a ton of availability left the night before that it wouldn’t be busy and they wouldn’t care.
Wrong. I found out golfnow charged me for the full amount because the golf course requested it.
Needless to say I won’t be playing here again.
Great place for beginners
I’m a beginner, I felt comfortable playing this course, I’ll try again soon. Nice people around
A fun few hours at a very good price.
The course was in far better condition than some reviews I had read, not the greatest but very playable with only a few dry spots and only one bunker that was partially mud. Only other complaints are the greens could be in better shape if a few more people fixed their pitch marks and the Blue tee boxes were in rough shape and placed far closer to the white than the listed distance.
Fun Executive Course
Fun Executive course, 4 par fours so can hit driver on a few holes. Tee boxes were a little rough, but the course is in decent shape, greens were decent, especially for the green fee.
Tee Boxes
Sand and seeds are cheap. The boxes were not well kept up. Hitting off dirt on a tee box is not part of any golf course.
What once was a good course....
This course suffers terribly from one thing, the staff. The staff in particular the younger ones on the staff have no respect for clients and treat the course as if it were there own personal country club. If you are in the staff's way of playing they will try to intimidate you to leave. We were a group of beginners and one veteran who has been playing 20+ years in and out of the amateur tournaments. As our beginners, who are older women and teeing off from the correct tees, we get 3 young men who pull up very aggressively and speak to us in a very bad tone. The began hitting into us almost hitting a woman in the head and of course no forewarning. We had to explain to the young man what a beginner is and what respect for one's elders and beginners is. The starter and the cart girl were the only people nice enough and understanding, she was able to speak to the young man and have him see reason for a short while at least. I played a tournament here as a child, I don't know if this is a good place for kids and beginners anymore, it seems like the staff has turned this once public course into there private club. Sam Snead i am sure would've been ashamed with the staff at this course. Perhaps a changing of the guard is in order or maybe even better a bull dozer. Dare I say this will soon be nothing but a waste of water.
Great layout, Great Greens
Great course layout, one of if not the top 3 in San Diego. Greens are amazing and well maintained. Layout is fun as well.
Needs Alot of TLC
Course was in dire need of some new grass on tees and fairways. Weekend pace of play was slow waiting close to 10 mins each tee. Range was in good shape but that's about it.
Worst par 3 course in SD
Gopher hole fairways, all dirt no grass.. golf cart were dirty , torn seats, discussing, even though covid protocol was enforced, to the point where my wife riding along had to pay ful green fees to ride. Played mission bay the next day, great conditions, staff, fairways, green were excellent. Not going to return to Tecolote again.
Short Course
3-4 Par 4’s and a ton of Par 3s. A lot like Mission Hills but in better condition. Not many opportunities to drive, but it was still a nice little course. Paid $25, which wasn’t too bad, but I wish the course was in better condition for that price.
