awful greens - bad course maintenance

I've played Lincoln several times this past 2-3 years. It could be a 5 star course, but....

It sets ups better in the winter to be honest despite it being a bit wet and getting little roll-out on drives. Why they haven't done something with the greens on hole 1, 2 and 12 to ensure balls don't roll back 6+ feet on uphill puts or off the green completely - due to "ridiculous slopes and no grass to hold a ball is anyones guess - this isn't the US open, it's a public muni. The greens are also infested with some kind of fungus that has gotten particularly bad over this year or so - and are now full of holes that cause your ball to bounce, pop up, and deviate massively in all directions. You can't hold a ball on several of the greens and what makes it crazy is that they let the fairways right in front of the greens grow to a height that looks/plays like rough, so any shot coming in on a 6 iron or lower trajectory absolutely plugs immediately. There greenskeepers/maintenance crew need to be given some education as to how a reasonable municipal golf course should be set up. Or management should address the glaring "stupidity" of how the course is managed. There are at least 5 "crazy golf" holes that almost every player I've played with or seen out here curse and shake their heads in frustration. This game is hard enough - please listen to your members and the public - and address the issues that keep this course from becoming a really great little municipal course. We don't want it made easier, we want it to play hard but fair.

Greens & amenities need some attention

Greens were in terrible bumpy and full of exposed dirt patches. Toilets are ready to fall off walls - "clubhouse" is near ready to collapse. $20 push cart rental seems excessive. Course is challenging because of hills, trees, shot-shaping requirements; but most frustrating because greens are in terrible shape. No views on this day due to fog; THAT is main reason to play given condition of greens.

Nice course, but greens in bad shape

Overall, I like the course. Beautiful views and nice scenery. The course and the buildings are old and not so well maintained. The greens are quite bad - lots of pock marks, which along with a lot of slopes, makes for unpredictable putting.

Lincoln Park

Greens are in horrible shape. Full of quarter size holes, bumpy, in need of overhaul.

Facilities are primitive. No water at clubhouse. Bathrooms from the 1950s.

Terrible course. Avoid.

Course is in terrible condition. Fairway is u cut and full of white flowers. The greens look like a tee box with all the pits and dead spots. Rented a cart and was not told they had to be in by 7. They came to collect the cart at 7 on the 13th hole. The group ahead of us had 6 people. I will not play this course again.

A fine day spent…

I got a good workout climbing the hills

of Lincoln so rich in history with views

to die for…some great, challenging holes

It as always the greens suck but that is

Lincoln’s way of saying…”come play more

often…you’ll figure them out”. I’ll be back!

Worst course in SF

This is the worst golf course I’ve ever played.

The greens are full of weeds and putting is not even worth it. It’s difficult to navigate and know where each hole is and there are no signs.

Under 21 year olds work in the pro shop. There is no starter manning the tee offs.

It was backed up and I left at 13.

I wish I could get a refund.

My favorite place to play in San Francisco.

Fro the price, Lincoln can't be beat. The daisies make finding your ball in the fairway difficult at times and the tee boxes are scraggly, but it's a beautiful course with a friendly staff. Love this course.

Terrible Service And Awful Cart Price

First of all the course was 55 dollars to play, which isn’t too much but the course already looked run down. We told the clubhouse manager that we wanted to ride and he charged us 50 dollars per cart, so on top of paying 55 a person we had to pay an extra 50.
