Nice Public Operation
Santa Barbara GC, being in the middle of Santa Barbara has some natural advantages. The course and concession are almost always busy. Most recently played a club outing on 8/16/12 but I've played there 3-4 times each of the last 3+ years. The course is friendly for most abilities and generally well kept up. Same for the greens though i never seem to put well there. I'd rate it just fair because the other near by public options are better, especially if you walk. Both Ventura and Ojai munis are easier to walk and IMO more interesting courses to play. If you're riding, Glen Annie is minutes from Santa Barbara GC has more of everything the golfer wants and better value.
Great Value
This course is great for intermediate golfers who don't want to spend too much money. The course is probably the best maintained public courses I've played on. I'll definitely play there every time I go to Santa Barbara.
Course in good shape
Greens were quick, rolled true. Fairways in good shape, guess having it rain more than once a year will do that. We used golf now & played for pretty cheap. Dude in pro shop is a trip, may need to up his meds a lil.
