Bennett Valley Golf Course

Not too difficult a course with minimal water hazards. Has over-the-top accomodating staff and execellent 19th hole!

The course was in poor condition, lots of hard pack. Service was dismissive and cold. I got there for my tee time and was told that they had a threesome that wanted to play alone. So i was pushed backed to another group. That made my starting time 20m later. When they finally called us to the tee I had to go back in because they didn't call my name. The starter said that she had said my name. I said if you had called my name I wouldn't be in here.

green and fairway in good condition. not long and not short. but a little bit narrow fairway. Miss a tee shot and you have to second-shot behind trees, almost making it impossible to aim directly at green. Just lay out in many cases. Beautiful weather in Santa Rosa. Considering the price, it is a fairly good course to try.

I use to golf all the time at Bennett Valley but hadn't played there for maybe a couple years. A year or so after the club house upgrades the price went up and the pace of play went down. The prospect of a 5-6 hour round couple with the many bland holes on the back nine put this course way down the list.

Checking in at the pro shop I was requested to provide printed paperwork from GolfNow?! As a long time GolfNow custom this is something I have never experienced and a request I think that could have been handled better. The implication was something with my tee time wasn't right. The request for my wife to spectate was handle as usual with a cart fee.

The greens had been recently aerated but the course in general was in pretty good shape. There were just a few dead spots on the fairways and not too many foot prints in the bunkers. As we teed off there was no one in front of us so the pace was not an issue but we ended up waiting a bit on the last four holes. Based on our four ball catch groups so many holes ahead and no signs of a marshal I would still be nervous about pace on a busier day or time.

I had forgotten how enjoyable the front nine are at Bennett Valley. Mature trees, elevation change, no houses giving a very natural feeling as play follows Matanzas Creek. The back nine still has the same boring 6 holes that are strait, tree lined, and no fairway bunkers zigzagging through a flat field. For the prepaid GolfNow rate is was a good deal and an enjoyable day.

The bar staff was friendly and there are many more drink and food options than at most golf courses. The patio is a nice place to relax with a drink and look out over the course. I think it will not be so long before I find myself back here again.

I thought the course was beautiful .....this was my first time there and I found it to be very well maintained and had beautiful surroundings. The staff were super friendly and helpful; I'm looking forward to playing there again.

Bennett Valley is a beautiful, well maintained municipal golf course. Pace of play is is about average for the area. The course is lined with large old trees. The greens are in excellent condition. The fairways and bunkers are in very good condition. This is a popular course that is worth the fee.

Best value around. Lots of trees, and if you go into them it will cost you. The layout is flat, but the trees give it a great feel--they line every hole. The staff is friendly, and tries to help with whatever I need.
There can be lengthy rounds--5 hours, but I would not say it is slow.
I recommend it to everyone.

Play is way too slow because of the allowance of groups of 5 and people not teeing off in time (waiting for others to get too far in front). Lack of a marshall really hurts play and waiting is detrimental to people's games.

played later in the day. Pace of play was faster than usual, can get backed up during the weekend at times. Great super twilight price for 9 holes, $10. Greens were in good condition.

They need to move the golfers along. No marshals on course but beverage and snack vender on course.

great deal with golf now ($32 with cart), on a sunday. course has many mature trees along its narrow fairways, making hitting it straight paramount. greens in good condition. pro shop guy (just one, not the other) a little stressed, but it was a busy sunday. greens and tee boxes a little close sometimes.

The course has used undulating greens, and tree lined fairways to protect it.

Really enjoy this course. Nice layout, pretty flat and easy to walk, trees line fairways (this is both good and bad!), I think the course is more challenging than its rating, price is right.

Mostly enjoyable day of play but very slow group ahead forced play to over five hours! Course was in good condition in a park like setting with wildlife. I'll do it again.

For the money-----one of the best I've played. Course is in great shape. Pin placement was challenging.

I forgot to print out my golfnow.com tee time reservation confirmation, the staff was nice enough to accept the email that I received; they asked that we bring a printout next time because that is how they keep track of bookings through golfnow and whether or not they want to keep their deal going.

My friend and I were put in with a father and son, we had a great time golfing even with the occassional drizzle and mist that came down on us.

There are quiet a few dog legs that can present some tough challeneges if you hook and slice. If you don't like trees stay away, there isn't a single hole surrounded by them; practice your punch shot. The greens were clean and the holes were placed in difficult places that presented good challenges; acording to my friend they had moved the holes on the green from a previous time that he had played.

Great value for a round of golf, would recommend it if you're looking to get out and not put a hole in your pocket.

You'll be glad you played this course. The scenery is stunning throughout. The course was in great shape and the staff is very laid back and friendly. Pace of play was a little slow, but not so much that I was bothered.

Golf course was in fantastic condition, not overly expensive, very nice driving range, super friendly/helpful staff! Some narrow, mature tree-lined fairways definitely reward a straight driver of the ball. Great hole layout, with generous-size greens. Many pins were tucked in the corners, behind greenside bunkers...which made for risk/reward aiming straight at pins. Logical hole layout made for an easy walking course, too. All golf courses should be/operate like this one! On second thought, don't come here...I want this place all to myself!!!
