Length 6608 yards
Slope 130
Rating 71.8

Sea Palms Golf and Tennis Resort offers 27 holes of golf that are interlaced with the stands of majestic live oaks that form ribbons across the landscape. The holes are divided into three nines that are played in different 18-hole combinations. Named after the densely forested landscape, the Tall Pines/Great Oaks combination will test your accuracy. In addition to the trees, sparkling blue lagoons are situated throughout the course and they provide more than just scenic respite. Golfers should be prepared for some tricky forced carries. There are some challenging holes at Sea Palms but overall, its playability is what makes it popular amongst all skill levels. There is also a practice area with a driving range and chipping and putting greens.

Quality course!

The course was in really great shape. The greens were nice and smooth and the fairways were nicely manicured. It's a good layout which will, at times, force you to work the ball left and right or use less club so you don't wind up in trouble.

They also have plenty of water coolers along the course for the hot summer days.

Both times I've played, I've just about been the only one in the course. The downside to this is the drink cart is only out when there are more groups on the course, which is during the mornings it seems.

I'll definitely come back.

Good course/awful pace of play

We played at 8:30, hoping to get around early, and 5 hours later finished. We had 2 groups on every tee on the back 9 and no ranger. Frankly it spoiled what could have been a fun round. The course was in great shape and the fairways, tees, and greens were spectacular. We would like to play again, but dragging around like we did really left a bad feeling. Welcome to the world of "resort golf".

A must play on St. Simons Island

Have lived and played this course on occasion for years but have never seen it in better condition. A must play if you live here or come for a visit.

Beautiful course but a little tight for beginners

My first time playing this course. I wished I lived nearby because I would play this course often.

The course was beautiful and well maintained. The greens were a little slow and putts had very little breaks. Took a few holes to get used to it but all greens were consistant. Well worth the price even if I didn't get a Hot Deal. We had a couple of novice golfers in our group and they were intimidated by the closest of homes on several of the tee boxes. The course was wet making a few holes cart path only. We still managed less than a 4 1/2 round. I would highly recommend this course.

Good but be aware

Course was in great shape, and I always enjoy the challenge...just a note on the driving range:

Be aware of your liabilities using the Sea Palm Driving range. Please respect the rights of the Deer Run Villas residents and Do Not hit over the nets.

The area around the range includes homes, a tennis court and other golfers from the Nine West Course. Your liabilities may include personal and property damage.

If you require a longer range for practice please use the ranges at the following courses.

• King & Prince Golf Course, St. Simons Island

• Jekyll Island Golf Course, Jekyll Island

• Heritage Oaks Course at Oak Grove Island

These courses all feature full service ranges for your practice with drivers or other long clubs.

Property damage has already occurred at Deer Run Villas, including bouncing into the tennis court. We do not want personal injury to be next. If your golf ball leaves the practice range area, you WILL BE responsible for any damages or injury.

Great day

We were a little spoiled. Went off at 9am on a Monday and never ran into anyone in front of us, never saw anyone behind us. Just my dad and me, we played in 3.5 hours. Had a great time. Both played well. All aspects of the course were in good condition. Certainly not Augusta, but nothing was so bad it was deserving of a complaint. Greens were a little slow (probably a 9 or 9.5) but putted true.

Most enjoyable

Most enjoyable round of golf for me in over a year. I didn't score well but had a great time. All aspects of this course were as good as you could ask for. I played here about 4 years ago, and I will not wait that long to come back.

Sometimes The People Make The Course

Add unfriendly, unhelpful staff to a great course you get a bad experience. Add friendly, helpful staff to a good course you get a great experience and it becomes a great course. You get the latter at Sea Palms. Georgia is in a dry spell, yet the course was in good condition. My wife and I enjoyed our time here. I'm sorry I don't remember his name but the man outside not only gave us great advice on the course but on restaurants in the area. We would go back.

Fast greens

This was my first time playing the course. The course is in good condition. It's your typical resort course. It has some challenges but not to difficult off the tee. The greens are the course's main defense. They are very slick with some subtle breaks. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Only real negative is the driving range. It is very small and a good distance from the clubhouse. Overall I really enjoyed this course and my round. If you can get it for $40 or less, it's worth it.

Had the course to ourselves

Played on a very windy day. The course conditions were decent except for the greens which were very sandy. But the staff were very friendly and there were only a few other people on the course so we played in just over three hours. Excellent course for the money though. Booked it as a "hot deal".

Great course

I liked the layout. Greens were excellent but the fairways were a little dry due to the lack of rain which was to be expected. The staff was very friendly and the food was very good.
