Los Robles Greens Golf Course
About
Nestled in the foothills of the Conejo Valley, Los Robles Greens Golf Course is less than 40 miles from L.A. but feels much further thanks to the beautiful mountain surroundings. It sits at 900 feet above sea level and tumbles across a variety of elevation changes. The towering, mature oaks that line the fairways characterize the course. The diverse layout offers both wide and narrow fairways, water hazards, and thick cuts of rough. The undulating greens are also lightning fast. The course is a fair challenge but still gentle enough to appeal to a range of skill levels. Although it is a public golf course, the beautiful setting and excellent course conditions gives Los Robles Greens the feel of a private club, which makes it a great value for the price.

course was in good shape for wintertime. greens fast but nice. bunkers need better sand and some revamping.
Good day, nice course but iffy service in the bar
Busy day on the course so the guys in the pro shop were friendly enough, business like and provided good service. Starter put us in front of a 11:30 a.m. group because they were not ready so that was nice. Had to wait on every hole and the Par 3's backed up a bit but like I said it was a busy day. Fairways and greens were in okay shape and I like the course lay out. A little hilly and some dog legs here and there, fun course to play. One bad thing is the at the turn we quickly went to the bar to get a drink and a few beers and the place was pretty much empty (few older gentlemen just finishing their lunch) but the bar tender seemed un-interested in getting us serviced so we can get back on the course. Guess you needed to look a certain way to get her attention. Someone else came in after us and she quickly asked what he needed and took his money and moved him along quickly. Filed it as "it is what it is" and got back to the tenth tee as quickly as we could but that put us behind a bit. We kept it moving along pretty much playing boggy golf (with a par here and there) but around the 15 tee the Marshall shows up and tells us we are about a hole behind, which was about right. Mentioned to him we lost time at the turn. He explained to me the bar tender was a grandma, which I can believe. It is nice thing to tend bar at a golf course if that what someone wants to do but despite whoever is tending bar, that person needs to keep the players on the course moving along or the result will be delays. A few months ago and was sitting in that bar and recall hearing this bar tender going on about the good old days and how she was planning moving up north.., chasing a town that looked the way TO or Camarillo used to look. Maybe she ought to do that. Bottom line to this review is Los Robles Golf Course is a good place to play, just BYOB, food and steer of the bar.
Gem of a public course
Love the redesign and layout. Played from blues and found it more enjoyable than from the whites. Greens were fast but true. Bunkers were well placed but fair. Thanks to staff for keeping it a great track that my L.A. friends can get to in a decent amount of time.
Course can be challenging with some difficult shots. I have recommended it to many of my friends & other golfers in the area.
Great but the cart girl stopped working after 1:00
Slow Play
I had not played the course since they made the design changes. I think the changes turned out great. However, the pace of play was horrendous, so I ended up quitting after 9 holes. I would have enjoyed seeing the back 9, but I did not have a few more hours to spend on the course. Also, the price just seems unreasonably high unless you can secure a special rate. The only advantage to the high prices is that finding tee times is possible and a more full reservation list would even further slow play. I think going forward I would look for just weekday options where the course may be even less crowded.
Too Long, To pricey
I am local and have played this course a hundred times.. A couple years ago they made significant improvements to the course. It is a fun, fairly short course.
After the improvements they raised the rates, it more expensive than other, better, courses. (Rustic Canyon, Tierra Rejada, River Ridge Lakes) and more expensive than comparable courses (Cam Springs, Olivas Links, Sterling).
We arrived at the starters hut 10 minutes before our T time. We got out 20 minutes after our T time. The round took 5+ hours, we waited for every shot. They clearly squeezed additional golfers in to over saturate the course.
Bottom line, its a fun course in good shape. Dont go on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and the Green fee is on average 20$ too high....
Great course a short ride from LA
Course is in great shape and a fun play not long but greens well protected with killer deep bunkers(that's part of the fun).
greens are not large and quite curvy more fun.
Pace on front nine was amazing seemed like we had it to our selves!
A few holes after the turn it slowed downed and came to a near stop after 15 holes. Not sure we're the traffic came from but all in all a great play.
Acomadating staff
Early tee time on Sunday, walked in, and found out from starter that their computer is DOWN. This guy was very proactive in getting every one out on the course as quickly as possible. Definitely worked very hard to please the customer! That is very much appreciated in my book.
Fairways were in good shape, (not great). Sand traps were REAL sand! Love that, and greens were very good.
The one knock on the sand traps is that they have these small little "plants" growing throughout every sand trap. It's like a hazard within a hazard... no fun. I hope that take them out some day.
Good course, slow play.
Overall, LosRobles was a good experience for us except for the slow play. There was a foursome two groups ahead of us that slowed the pace considerably and created a lot of wait time for us. The marshals didn't seem to do anything to speed up play.
Beautiful course!
Los Robles GC is just the perfect course. Grounds are pristine and greens challenging. The day was perfect. And although it was ladies day, pace of play was good. Water holes are low but not stinky. A suggestion would be to have an ice machine, water and cups outside and convenient for players.
Great layout, challenging shot selection and very good greens. Pace of play was a little slow but course was great condition!
